HELP!! Tipping

I have a 3 piece Jazz band for the ccoktail hour, my FH want's to tip them $100. They're playing for 1 hour is that right??? What do I then give the DJ & MC who will be there for 4 hours? FH said oh i was planning on giving the DJ more than $50. Is he nuts? I'm confused. Please give your opinion.

$100 each band member? If it's $100 each I think it's too much. I would tip about $20-25 a person just b/c they're only playing for an hour. As for the DJ, we asked ours (b/c we had no clue) and he said that $50 for the MC and $50 for the DJ was fine. Hope this helps.

theres loads of posts regarding tipping. Im not ready to think about it yet. but $100 is definitely too much and not necessary! I agree with marcela, $25/pp is more than enough even.
