hello! i am helping a friend try to narrow down her venue search. she's looking for a spot that will hold 250+ in nassau/queens/brooklyn that is unique (gardens, beachy, etc) and holds 1 EVENT at a time. she's very open to different types of places, but doesn't want a busy catering hall. any ideas??

Floral Terrace - It's not beachy or gardens, but they hold one event at a time and it is built inside an old vaudeville theater from the 20's - SUPER gorgeous and unique.

Assuming you'd have thought of these already, but how about The Brooklyn Botannic Garden or Abigail Kirsch at Stage 6 Steiner Studios

Dyker Beach in Brooklyn is nice. Right on the golf course.

The Village Club of Lake Success! Not to far out for your Queens guests, inside was redone last year and has a Manhattan loft feel, outside is on a golf course, and just BEAUTIFUL. One event at a time and cocktail hour food presentation is awesome! I'm biased though

I looked at tons of places in Brooklyn that were unique (not catering halls) but they were not beachy or gardeny. One that was sort of gardeny that stands out though is Mymoon. We loved it but I was really set on having a band and they only allow DJs. Oh, but no way can 250+ fit there.
Another venue is in Prospect Park at a new venue called Lakeside. I'd definitely look into it because its more affordable given that it's so new.
I would suggest that she also look at New York Botanical Gardens. It was a bit above our budget but it was a gorgeous venue.
