As I've said before, things have been sooooooo crazy. We started house hunting before the wedding in beginning of the year. It's all happening so fast since we went to contract right before we went on our HM a month ago. We got the call from the lawyer today and it looks like DH and I should be closing on our house in another few weeks (main reason why I haven't been online-though i'm sure no one noticed).
Since we've been in the apartment for the last 2 years I started thinking that there so so much that we don't have and will be needing. Things like a lawnmower, shovel/snow blower etc. We're used to havine a maintentance guy to call and having everything done for us.
Anyone have or know of a good list? Can anyone help? I know there are tons of you in the same situation!! I'm just suddenly drawing blanks

thats wonderful news! congrats! we bought our house in january..and since i've noticed many things we needed mostly little things you would never think about...you'll keep finding stuff too, trust me!!!...some stuff...gardening tools, a barbeque, basic kitchen utensils, some kitchen electrics, toilet paper and towels (yes it is easy to overlook!! trust me!!! ) lol , cleaning supplies, basic furniture, a rake, garbage cans (if they aren't provided), outdoor furniture, batteries, extra light bulbs...

I don't think the list ever stops....
Here is some advise, I would hold off on a snow blower. One it doesn't snow as bad as it used too and see what happens you make friends with a neighbor who wants to split the cost with you and share it. They are cheaper at the end of the season too.
I would get rock salt -- always needed on the icey days!

I suggest you hire a gardener, unless your hubby is particularly good with a mower. We have a half acre and it's only 40 dollars per week, so depending on your property it could be about that or less eve, and they mow and weed and turn flowerbeds. It's really worth it.
I would make a grand list with your husband and put things in priority and just hammer away at them one by one. MY FH and I just bought a house a month and a half ago and we are going to do things one by one as we can afford them. It was a priority for me to have all the floors done so we did that. But we are going to paint ourselves. Renovations will have to wait. Furniture we will do piecemeal. There will be one or two rooms simply not done until later.
