Hey ladies! I'm just starting out on this wedding planning adventure and could really use some help with venue quotes. I was hoping for some quotes or information for a Saturday daytime wedding summer 2014. I was looking at some of the following places, any info? Please, FM!

-Venetian Yacht Club

-Vanderbilt Planetarium in Centreport

vanderbilt - is a 7-10k site fee and depending on who u use for caterer - lessings is 199 p/p not including tax... i wanted to get married there -ridiculous in price!

Not all Lessings sites are 199 pp. I went to a number of different lessings locations, and they all varied in price. Most of them quoted me around 95++ pp for summer of 2014. I'm getting married at a lessings location, and it's MUCH lesser than 199 pp. So don't cross those locations off your list!

ETA: for a Saturday evening in summer of 2014. The rate is lesser for a Friday or sunday wedding..

Angie what Lessing's location are you getting married at and when? Did you do a tasting and if so how was it? I am considering Timber Point I was wondering if you are going to be getting married at the same place?

Depending on which lessings you go to it can range from $59 pp to $199 pp... I'm getting married at a lessings and I'm paying less than 100 pp.

You can actually go to the lessings website and click on each of their wedding venues and then click on the 'info' section on it and they will give you a price range and all the info about each of the venues!!

I'm getting married at the Mansion at West Sayville and its a lessings :)

I'm getting married in a church, but my reception is at Timber Point in August. The ceremony site at Timber Point is beautiful, with great views of the golf course. We didn't do a tasting, but a ton of our family and friends have attended events at Timber Point, and everyone had rave reviews about the food. Even FMIL, who is quite picky with food, loves the food and service at Timber Point. I spoke to the coordinator though, and she said that she could schedule a tasting before we sign, so if you feel more comfortable doing that, then that's an option.

Also, if you want, Timber Point is having a showcase on July 16th, from 6.30pm-9.30pm (you can RSVP on their website, open to all). This would be a great opportunity to taste the food and check out the ceremony area, etc. FM me if you have more questions, and definitely try to check out the showcase if you are considering Timber Point!

My fiancé and I booked at Timber Point last weekend, without trying the food but my favorite restaurant is a Lessings restaurant so we figured it would be fine. Plus we weren't going to be able to make it to the showcase due to work so our Miriam was kind enough to put in our contract that if we did not like the food at our personal tasting we could get a full refund of our deposit. Today is our tasting, I'm sure it will be great!
