I believe when I looked in summer of 08, Venetian yacht club was 125 for a sat and I think 110 for a friday if that helps at all. That was the only one on your list that I checked out, gl!

oh wow, ok first i would see which rh's have what you are looking for AND accomodate what you need.

For example if you are having a large wedding then some might not have a room big enough for all your guests so that will help to eliminate some right away. ALso vice versa, some rh's need a minimum of lets say 150 guests, if you plan to have less then something to consider.

Do you want 1 wedding at a time or doesnt matter?

also what look do you want, some want wood, fire places and more cozy natural look. Others want the more ballroom, marble look.

SOme want high ceiligs others dont care. Or some want windows.

If you narrow it down to the ones that meet all your needs will help

Chateau la mer-i had my e-party here, the food was amazing. The room was beautiful and service was great. Their prices are reasonable too. ALOT of brides on here have gotten married there and had rave reviews. Also we had looked here at first for wedding but could not fit our guestlist so we couldnt do it here bc of that. So something to keep in mind in case you have a very large guest list

Ive been to riviera too-see this looks very different from CLM, very nice also but has more of the wood, fireplace look. CLM has the marble floor ballroom look so depends on what youre looking for.

Also what price range?

Just as an example Lands end will be more per person the riviera and CLM and a few of the other choices

We had our reception at Timber Point in August and were so pleased with everything - the ambiance, the service, and the food. I would highly reccomend it to any newly engaged couple. If you'd like specific info, feel free to FM me.

Good luck!

That's a huge list! First though, what are you looking for?

Indoor or outdoor CH?
High ceilings?
Mansion feel or catering hall?
Price per person?
Food choices?
Water or garden?

Give us some more specifics and then we can help better.

PS - I'm partial to North Ritz.

Here are some prices for Sat evening in the Fall so price will vary for the summer:

Venetian Yacht Club - $95pp
Brentwood Country Club (hear they have a great deal?!) I hear their deal is something like $12000 for everything

Timber Point - don't know but been there for a few functions and always very nice.

Bourne Masion - $115pp - if you go don't book with Jen get the other guy, he is much better to deal with from my experience

Snapper Inn - good food, more of a restaurant feel, great for a smaller wedding

Beach Club Estate - in a residential area, newly re-done

Windows on the Lake - right around the corner from beach club - wasn't our style

Smithtown Landing - been here a thousand times, always had a good experience, my guess would be around $80pp

Watermill - very nice, love the outside, around $115pp

Fox Hollow - my fav b/c this is my RH, $90 for fall

Woodbury CC - not booking 2010 weddings, they are closings

Woodlands - went to a wedding here recently, food was great

The Sterling - wasn't for us

Villa Lombbardis - wasn't for us

The Riviera - never saw

Sunset Harbor - didn't like the location

Danfords - keeping my opinions to myself

Lands End - absolutely stunning place, amazing food, in my opinion the best place on your list. but very expensive for the summer saturday evening around $160pp

Re: Help w. Halls Please!

These are the places I had looked at/ recieved some sort of info for. hope it helps...

Chatau La Mer would be good for a summer wedding, I like the idea of arriving on the yacht and they are on the water. I wasn't impressed with the food though when I went there a few years ago for a party.

Beach Club Estate was on my list of places to see. The lady at the Beach Club Estate would never get back to me for information or to make an appointment. Maybe it was because at the time I was living in PA not NY, but I crossed her off the list due to customer service issues.

Windows on the Lake (and they have a 2nd location nearby as well) both were georgous and they offer complete wedding packages to make planning easy. It was just too far out on the island for everyone to drive to considering I have numerous oot guests from 5 different states.

Crest Hollow Country Club I thought that it looked too much like a hotel, there was a large fee for an outside coctail hour. The BM we talked to didn't seem to care we were there. and the location of the out door ceremony is up a hill that my grandparents would have a very hard time getting to.

Fox Hollow - Booked here!!! Absolutely what my FH and I were looking for. Cheap and outrageous reviews and Food!!! The inn next door lets us save money on not needing limos, but the inn is a bit pricey.

Woodbury CC - They told me that they would be doing renovations around our date (Aug 2010) so we couldn't look at them b/c they wouldn't be booking.. someone else just recently said they may be closing.. That post is on here somewhere but I don't know that for sure.

Good Luck

Re: Help w. Halls Please!

Ok lets see..... I'll comment on the places I know about....

Bourne Mansion - I actually never have been here.. but I've always been intregued by it.

Windows on the Lake - Dani is getting married here.. that's all I know of it.

I'm sure I can be better help than this.

Crest Hollow Country Club - FSIL got married here in the 80's (she's his oldest sister) and FBIL was married here like 7 years ago. So naturally I couldn't get married here.... I like to be different, so we didn't even go to see it. But i have been to a few weddings there. Personally.. it was definately not the worst place I've been to... but I don't remember too much about it. The food wasn't bad... but nothing stood out. I do remember a lot of white marble... which was kinda nice. Whenever i went to a wedding.. I never thought to pay close attention bc I might need to know this stuff when it's my turn to be the bride. Plus my goldfish memory doesn't help too much.

Fox Hollow - VERY NICE! We really lied this place. It was the 2nd place we saw. A friend of mine was also looking around the same time as us...a nd she saw this place as well. We both felt the same. It has such nice architecture and details. the hallway and outdoor courtyard was soo pretty. The amount of entre choices is amazing. Loved that there was a hotel on premesis! And how sweet to be able to go there on your anniversary to eat in the restaurant and stay overnight in the hotel??? Ohh I wish. Ok so why didnt we book this place?? The room was a little too narrow for me. I also really wanted round tables... or even square tables. I just like the fullness of them. The tables in this room were super super narrow. It's very very pretty.... I wouldn't say it's manly or anything.. but it's not super feminine - a little more on the masceline side - not in a bad way... but just decor wise. For some reason I am reminded of Peter Luger.. but nicer. Ha ha. Does that make sense? And I needed a very large bridal suite area because I wanted to hang out with the BP and DH for a little while before the craziness starts. It had a very nice BS but it just needed to be larger.

That's all I have for now.

There's an awesome book out there.. it's a magazine actually that has a page per place.. it shows pics, sample menu, background, prices, kosher, parking, hotel on premesis, etc. SOOOO many details. I HIGHLY recommend it. We would never of found our place without it!

Re: Help w. Halls Please!

honestly, it depends on your budget... personally, i priced out lands end and we were quoted about $200pp for a saturday night in october/may. the prices for both months were relatively the same. i don't have any quotes for any of the other places, but you have a variety of options there... i would figure out what type of setting you want (i.e. water/beach, mansion, country-style) and narrow them down from there. hope this helps! have fun!!!!! it's very exciting!!!

Re: Help w. Halls Please!

Yes I agree what kind of hall are you looking for? On the water, do you want to be the only bride, what is your budget per person etc
I am partial to Land's End for some reason
Beautiful place, great food, and just all-around gave us an elegant wedding and we were very happy. FM me if you want more info and or have any q's!!!

Re: Help w. Halls Please!

Wow that is one very long list. First I would narrow it down by what you are looking for in a RH. FH and I knew we wanted a 1 event place at a time so if thats what you want that would narrow your list down right there. Also get a budget and guest list going before you go to the halls. They will ask how many guests you are looking to have and that will def change the cost per person.

From personal experience I LOVE the North Ritz Club (I'm very biast towards them).

I've been to 2 weddings at the Watermill and one was amazing and the other was less them impressive.
The woodlands is GORGEOUS and the food is great
Lands end I cant say enough great things about but they are very pricey....same with Flowerfields if you were to look there
Fox Hollow is beautiful and do a great job...food is great
Timber Point I went there for an engagement party and I would say look there depending on the size of the wedding. If you are inviting under 130 then def look there, if you wanted to invite more then it may be a little tight around the tables

Sorry so long...FM if you want anymore info. I've been going to a ton of weddings over the last year so I've been to alot of these halls

Re: Help w. Halls Please!

We're getting married at Chateau La Mer and have had nothing but wonderful things to say about it. The food is excellent, Lou and Nick are so helpful, and the location is gorgeous, and it's right on the water. We have $85/night on a Saturday in April and that includes pretty much anything you could want including top shelf liquor, huge cocktail hour, and great entree choices. Plus, if you get married in the summer (May to September), you get to arrive in a yacht! It was the first place we looked and we didn't even bother looking anywhere else. FM me if you want to know any other details.

For the Snapper Inn, from what I've heard, they don't close the restaurant part for weddings so your guests will be in the middle of happy hour and I've heard from more than a few people that a fun Saturday night activity in that area is crashing weddings at Snapper Inn because it's difficult to prevent it. So IMO, I would save that for the e-party or rehearsal dinner.

Good luck with the planning process!
