Help with a Band!

Help with a Band!

Hi,

Can anyone please refer me to a band that is good and can play a variety of music? And does anyone have quotes on bands? I got one for $5400 for five hours of music for a 6 piece band...is that reasonable? Thanks so much in advance!

That seems pretty reasonable.. Well actually, I'm getting a 7 piece band for less than that, plus the keyboardist during the cocktail hour. I'm using Rhapsody from Skyline Orchestras. They were one of the first bands we saw and we just loved them! Skyline offers 4 different bands and they have showcases where you can go see them.

He has a variety of bands and they are all union band members (full time bands, not just 'wedding singers')

Well actually I'm using Times Square Orchestra - 8 Piece band - and they are charging 5500, and providing music for my cocktail hour. Check them out.Times Square Orchestra

we used Current Affair, and they were amazing. We paid $4800 for 8 or 9 pieces, including cocktail hour music.

Full House Music is amazing! We booked in 2000 for our wedding in June 2001, and we paid $4400 for a seven piece band, with soloist and piano during cocktail hour and continuous music during a 5 hour reception.
Check them out - Full House Music
Good luck!

Re: Help with a Band!

5400 is 900 per musician. They better be top notch cause that is a high number for a 6 piece band

Claud Full House is now running 5500 for 2004

We had a 9 piece band for $4700 on a Sat Night in Oct. Not sure if they have raised their prices or not.

Christine - of course their prices have gone up - that's why I made a point to mention when I booked them and when my wedding was. But, good for them...Full House is totally worth every penny, IMO!!

You are right Claud2001 I just wanted to give her an idea of their cost now!
You are right about them being very good. We saw them play at a new year eve party at a catering hall about 3 years ago.
We had a hard time deciding between them and Times Square - but times square had played at our reception site before so that made us feel more comfortable because they would know what to expect.

I'm using Primetime Live, they are one of LI Paramount 's bands. I'm paying 5000 for cocktail hour and reception music. I'm using 9 pieces and they do all types of music. They have showcases, so you can see them live.

Just a note about Full House - they will work with you on price. Especially if you book directly through them. It was one of the best decisions we made having them at our wedding.

Midnight Magic Orchestra is the band we booked. We have 9 pieces and cocktail music that was included and for the quality of the musicians, they were priced right. www.midnightmagicorchestra.com

My best friend got married june of 2001. This band was out of this world. I think it was a 6 piece band and it cost her about 4500. Give them a call. See if you can hear them at any showcases, because they were definately amazing.

That sounds very reasonable. Mine is way more that that. If you like them, then it is totally worth it. Don't skimp on the entertainment.
