Help with a non-bridal decision

Help with a non-bridal decision

So i'm getting a part time job (on top of my full time job) to help pay for the wedding. I had an interview this morning and I got the job! I can even start tomorrow!!! BUT this is my dilemma.

I have another interview already lined up for the same type of position that pays significantly more (almost 10K+ more a year!). The interview isn't until the 31st and there is always the potential for not getting that job.

What should I do?

I contemplated taking the job offer that I have now and then going to the second interview later - and then quitting the first job if i got the better paying one BUT the job offer requires that I stay a full school year (a teaching position).

TIA!

Can you tell them that you can't start immediately? Maybe that you need to give someone else 2 weeks notice?

thats a good idea!

or you can take it and go on the interview and if need be quit...... i dont think they can really hold you to a position,.. what if it turns out that you hate it - or something

They need someone immediately because school is starting but that would be a great idea otherwise.

This is true, I could quit but I know the school really needs teachers and I would feel bad abandoning the kids.

i say do this as well... this way its a win win situation for you.. if you dont get the job then you at least have that job that you accepted. if the other job accepts you then great you can tell them unfortunately something came up... when i worked in HR people used to do that to us every now and then so it does happen..

I agree. Go on the interview and if you get it, leave the other job. It's such a big difference in salary. I'm sure they can find someone else if you decide to leave, especially in this economy a lot of people are looking for jobs.
