So I really really really wanted to do a hydrangea bouqet with stephanotis like the one in the picture. But I have been told from numerous people that hydrangeas are fragile and cannot go for long without water, especially in the summer.
Has anyone used hydrangeas for their summer wedding? Should I just cross my fingers and go for it or does anyone have any other suggestions?
You should ask your florist for his/her opinion on the hydrangea's. I think the bouquet in your post is beautiful. I've seen bouquets with hydrangea's before.

One of my GF's was in a wedding that had those flowers and they really didn't hold up well. I wanted to use them too but b/c my wedding is 8/2, i figured I would just rethink it.

All our bouquets had hydrangeas and they held up for the ceremony & pictures afterwards... but started drooping during the reception.. which was ok because we were done with them by then anyway

Hi,
I don't care for hydrangias myself. i went with blue delphinium. my florist too said they (hydrangias)are kinda delicate and wilt easily in summer. Below is a pic of what i'm looking to do for BMs bo-k. HTH

There are other blue flowers you can use but hydrangeas are soo beautiful. There is also iris which is blueish purple. You can also have flowers dyed blue as well. If I were you, I would talk to the florist because hydrangeas might hold up for the time that you need them and they are so gorgeous and elegant!

Post any pics you have! Thanks!!!
My florist also does gorgeous silk arrangements. I know some people don't like them but if you are set on hydrengas and it's out of season the hydreangas to me are one of the most realistic looking silk flowers that I've seen. They are guaranteed not to die.

hydrangeas are a lil more delicate - i saw some gorgeous blue roses in the city the other day, maybe do blue roses and stephanotis?

Bluebell flowers are sooo cute and pretty!! There are tons and tons of blue flowers out there.
I have a whole file on my computer at home of pictures of blue flowers. I'm also doing a blue bok. If you want me to email them to you I sure will... just FM me your email and I can to that tonight!
