OK I have a question. Originally we were having a TINY bridal party-MOH and best man. Thats it. But now we're having my three cousins as well. Female cousins. So my question is this...
My FH and I arent traditional in a lot of ways-like we don't care bout all the formalities. So he wants to know if he can just have his best man and thats it or do if we HAVE to have escorts for all of the girls?
Another question:
Since its such a small bridal party can we alllow them to sit with their familesor do they HAVE to sit together as a bridal party?
Like my girls are all family so they'd be sitting with my family anyway-we're a big puerto rican family so all up in one another's business and do things together. And my FH's best man is merried so he will probably want to sit with his wife.
So can we do that? We're not formal people but is it 'allowed'?

You don't need to do an even bridal party. You can have the best man stand by the groom and the bridesmaids can walk in alone, alot of weddings even when they have more people in the bp the bridesmaids walk alone.
Honestly, most people do not do the head tables, no matter what size your bp is, bc of the reason you stated, it takes them away from their dates, and their dates can end up sitting alone with ppl they don't know. Most people now do the sweetheart table, just the bride and groom, and bp sit at different tables.

Re: HELP with bridal party etiquette questions
Yea i am not doing a head table with bp. I want them to sit with their friends and family why should they be stuck with fh and i all night? We are probably not going to be sitting much anyway from having to thank people and socializing. So i think your okay with that.
As for going down the asle, you can do whatever you want also!! Its not bad eti at all.

Re: HELP with bridal party etiquette questions
You don't need additional groomsmen. You can have who ever you want. It's your day. The girls can walk in alone.

Re: HELP with bridal party etiquette questions
many people do not have separate bridal party tables anymore. it's not a big deal.

Re: HELP with bridal party etiquette questions
Our bridal party is uneven, I have more girls than he has guys. It just worked out that way.
Also, we are not having a head table, our bridal party will be sitting with their families/dates/wives, etc...
Basically you can do whatever you want.

Re: HELP with bridal party etiquette questions
i have an uneven BP and i will NOT be making them sit together. they can if they want, but i figured i'd put them with their mutual friends, just not too far from our table.
honestly, these days if you want to have a BP consisting of solely an Elvis impersonator jumping down the aisle in a potato sack--it's fine. do whatever you want!

Re: HELP with bridal party etiquette questions
my bp is WAY uneven - 4 more girls that guys - and I SO don't care what anyone thinks - that's who I want to have, so that's what it is.
everyone is sitting with their family/friends, and we have a sweetheart table for the 2 of us.
for the record - for my 1st wedding - the bp was even, all bm's wore matching shoes, jewelry and updo's....I still got divorced...know what I mean?
the little details we tend to stress over just aren't important in the grand scheme of things....do what makes you happy.

Re: HELP with bridal party etiquette questions
I think it's fine. It's your wedding and you can do what you want. I have been to plenty of weddings where the bridal party sat throughout the room and not at one specific table all together.
