Help with ceremony music...
Hi Ladies,I am at the point that I'm looking for ceremony music. I will be having my ceremony at my reception hall at 7:30 pm on a Friday night. It will be an interfaith wedding (Catholic and Penetcostal) and it should only last about 30 mins. I wanted like a pianist or something for 7-8 pm but I'm really undecided. Should I get a harp, violins etc... Does anyone recommend anyone. Thanks!!!!!

Hi Curly
I think it really adds something special to a ceremony when you have an instrument played. Whether violin, harp, etc. ..
I personally booked Janet King the Harpist (she's also a vendor on this site) to play for my entire ceremony. I keep imagining how beautiful it will be, and what a special touch it will add.
I will of course recommend her, I've heard her play for me - she will do a phone interview for you -- her music sounds beautiful, here is the link to her page on this site:

Thanks Liz, I actually saw her ata showcase and she said she'd charge me $380 for 1 hour. I was thinking of maybe spending less. I'm not sure yet.
BTW I sent you forum mail on Sat.Keep those ideas coming ladies.

Oh, yes, she's not cheap, although I think most of the harpist are about the same price.Contact Stan Weist, and see how much his company charges for different instruments.
Also, by any chance, does Leonards have a house pianist or flutist ????

I personally love the grandness of trumpets at a wedding, so I hired Royal Brass for my ceremony...two trumpet players dressed in Renaissance attire...I CANNOT WAIT! Nobody is expecting it!

I used Encore Music and had a violin and a cello and it was beautiful. They charged $600 for 2 and a half hours. It was a really nice touch and they were excellent. Good luck!

Re: Help with ceremony music...
They advertise on this board. I spoke with Patti from Encore. She was real nice. I think it was something like $265 for an hour and a half, each, and then since I wanted them the extra time she only charged a little bit more. She said since they are there they might as well stay a little longer (??). I know it sounds strange but I was pretty pleased with the price so I didn't question it. They were there from 1:30 - 4:00PM and everyone loved them. Good luck!Welcome New Vendors
