Help with Choosing a date?

FH and I have decided on NCMA for the wedding - I am SOO happy since we have been to over 20 places and I was not in love with ANYTHING!

Sooo taking a poll on what date to choose:

Saturday, August 15
Sunday, September 20

Unfortunately there are no Saturdays in September left (arg) hence the Sunday date. I'm leaning towards August 15 since it will be a saturday and the sun sets later so people can enjoy all the sculptures at the Museum (we are doing a cocktail reception so people can roam around) but I'm worried it will still be warm/muggy in mid-august.

What do you guys think? Weather.com says the average high is 81 and mid-seventies in the evenings....

if price isnt the deciding factor then I would go with the Saturday. Don't get me wrong Ive been to many sunday weddings and it was perfectly fine but if you can do Saturday, I would personally go for that.

as long as there is air conditioning, then i wouldn't worry about the hot weather in august. besides you can even serve chilled drinks like strawberry daquiris!

I would go with the Sunday in September. People go away in August and it can be extremely hot even well into the evening.

I would go with the Saturday- send an STD well in advance since August is a popular vacation month.

well....being different from the average bride i would pick the sunday just because i cant stand the idea of being in a big gorgeous gown when its hot outside

That really is a toss up! I'd prefer a Sat because my people like to party it up! But also, I HATE the heat and the thought of sweating in my dress and having to take pictures in the heat turns me off sooo much.
So you would have to pick which you can live more with... the heat or a Sunday. A lot of people do Sunday and they are perfectly fine with it. Some people actually like the heat! Either way just do STD's so there are no vactation or Sunday dilemmas!

Usually I prefer Saturdays but a lot of people do plan vacations in August-----they have to get the kids off to school a few weeks later so a lot of families always go away in August.

I luved my Sunday September wedding. My hair wasn't frizzy and I wasn't melting for our pictures. It was still sunny for the whole coctail hour and then we got to see a pretty sunset.

If money is not a factor I would absolutely go with a Saturday - I would even do a Friday over a Sunday unless it is a Sunday Summer Wedding - Your quests will not enjoy themselves to the fullist and will leave early and then you will spend the end of your wedding saying goodbye rather than where are we going after this -

if you want to go cheaper i would choose the sunday in septemeber, but i would still choose sept because its not as hot.

are they the same in price? if so i would go with the saturday. although i do love the fall weather so september would be nice even if you went with that one.

ive been to sunday weddings and in my opinion i hated it. knowing that i had to go to work the next day and couldnt really enjoy myself.

just my opinion though

I'd go with Saturday - people don't seem to have as much fun Sundays because they have work the next day. August isn't as hot as July so you may be fine. Plus, I would assume the place is air conditioned, right?
