Help!! with Dessy Dress #2015!!
This a great site and so many great people with great advice.I am hoping some of that good advice will come my way with this unrealistic question: I am in a wedding in early September and am looking for a particular bridesmaid dress sooner than August.
It's the Dessy #2015, which seems to be a favorite on this site. (I'm looking for it in black, size 8 or 10--preferably 8).
I know that even with rush shipping, I'm going to get it in August and am wondering if anyone knows of any stores that carry these in stock (or of any sites where you can get them used).
I have been scouring ebay and I even placed an ad on craigslist...so maybe those are my only options, but I thought I would ask you all, since you're more experts than I am.
Thanks in advance!!!

Don't know if it helps but Bridal Reflections in Massapequa and Burton's in Hunt. Station also carry Dessy, saw that dress there.Try the Dessy website and/or call their 800 #. My daughter had received hers in the wrong size and the HQ in Manhattan miraculously got her a replacement within a week!
Good luck!

I just ordered this as a SUPER RUSH from the Wedding Center in Commack - it costs a lot to do that, but I got the dress in about a month.Good luck!

Re: Help!! with Dessy Dress #2015!!
Thanks so much for these suggestions.I will try them all. As for Macy's, yes, I tried the dress on there, actually. But I have to order it through them and pay a fortune to get it in 8-10 weeks (and they told me THAT was a rush).
It's too bad there aren't retailers that just order several sizes of the more popular styles & keep them in stock, and then just alter them based on buyers' measurements.
Anyway, I will try calling around to some of the places suggested on here & see how it goes.
Thanks again all!!!

Have you tried Netbride? Their turnaround time is pretty good as it is... you may still have to order it rush, but I'm sure not only the dress, but probably the rush charge too will be cheaper from them. I ordered my BM dresses from them and got them in about 2 months (not rush). It's www.netbride.com.

Re: Help!! with Dessy Dress #2015!!
I have that dress in a size 8 but in light blue. I would be more than happy to sell it to you and you could try to dye it black.... is that stupid? If you were dying it a color I would think definitely no way, but black could work..... I paid $140-ish for it, i'd be willing to sell it to you for much less, especially cuz I dont know if the dye-ing idea would work. FM me if you want to work something out.Otherwise, yeah, Bridal Reflections in Massapequa carries it but I dont know about their turn around time on orders.......

I'd contact RK Bridal in Manhattan if you are in there. They could probably rush order it for you.

Re: Help!! with Dessy Dress #2015!!
Thanks for your help!I tried all the places suggested (a few on the other boards) and so far, almost every place that you all have suggested has had the dress, and many places were willing to sell the one on the rack to save me time, but sadly, as Consuela pointed out, Dessy likes to stamp their dresses SAMPLE so that they can't be sold.
Apparently, this is because a lot of the boutiques and salons don't buy the Dessy samples, they get them for free from Dessy. So, the company does whatever they need to so that the salons/retailers can't sell them.
Pretty stupid if you ask me, but well, no one did. I do have to say that the store in Centerreach that al ot of people have suggested was awesome. The person on the phone put me on hold and went to see what they had in stock and then, when she saw that the dress had the 'sample' tag/stamp, she tried to see if she could 'get it off' by hand. AWESOME. That's so nice that there are places that are so willing to give good service. It's so rare these days.
Anyway, if anyone has seen this dress in black, used anywhere, let me know?
Thanks again for all the good tips. This is such an awesome board!!!!

Re: Help!! with Dessy Dress #2015!!
The 'sample' word should be simple to dye out since hte dress is black.I have seen the dress and my bridesmaid actually wanted to wear it but I chose something else that suits my wedding dress more, hehe!
Anyway, back to your question, I know some preferred vendors of Dessy might have them in stock and should be able to ship them rather quickly. Or you can call the manufacturer directly to find who might have this dress in stock. I actually did this when I was looking for a Lady Roi dress and the guy directed me to a vendor they worked with and sure enough that vendor has the dress i wanted!
Even if you get the dress 2 weeks before the wedding that should be ample time to get any alterations done.
Here are some to try:
1. bridesave.com
2. houseofbrides.com
3. gownfind.com
Realize that if you get it online, since the cost is more, the rush shipping additional cost won't be so high. Good luck!
