Ok so this seems a somewhat silly question but you girls are used to those lol.1
Anyway I am trying to put together the parents albums. We decided to do ours through blurb.com because its cheaper since we want to have alot of pages to highlight the details that we worked so hard on. But our parents we are doing through My Publisher because the layouts are good and basic (they're all traditionalists) and we have a coupon for buy one, get one free. So thats the way to go there.
however, I am having a hard time creating their albums because Im not sure what a sample album for parents should look like. Is it just a miniature version of ours? I mean I love artistic details but my mom, not really. her fave shorts were all the posed traditional ones and my MIL likes some of the artistic ones so I thought to personalize them a bit, leaving out our friends and alot of the details and focusing on the formals and pics of DH and I. But how many pics of Dh and I should we do? how many formals? HELP LADIES! if anyone has links to their own albums or sample ones that can give me an idea, i will love y'all forever. TIA.

Re: Help with DIY My Publisher album layouts ASAP
I haven't done mine yet, but here's where I think I'm going: 1) My album will be the biggest, with as many pics as I can possibly cram in there.
2) My parents will have all the traditional stuff, me and sibs (half page), me and 'rents (half page), me & mom, me & dad (half page each) all of us (1 full page), a few with the bridal party, layout of the photojournalism during the prep time (2 - 4 pages), 2 - 4 pages of posed bridal party shots, the cardbox/invites/cake topper stuff (probably all on one page), a big shot of us during either the handfasting or the ring exchange, and a focus on my side of the guest list at the reception/cocktail hour. Probably a session pic of me and FI, and a ceremony pic of me and FI, and the rest as they happen (first dance, or cake cutting, or wherever the good ones turn up, but at least 2 and no more than 6).
3) Same for his parents, his side of the list.
4) Slimmer books for my aunts. They're my mom's sisters (none of them have kids), so the focus will be specifically my mom's side of the family. It will be mostly like my parents album, but lets say I have 3 pictures of my immediate family in my parents book, where I'd only have 1 picture in the aunts book. Of course, pictures with my aunts.

Jenn, first off check that buy one get one free coupon - I believe it's the same one I used and you have to order two of the SAME exact book to get the second one free. So keep that in mind!
That said, I don't think the parents albums are mini versions of the bride and groom's album. The ones I saw at my photographer's office consisted of shots of the bride and groom (walk down the aisle, ring exchange, kiss, first dance, cake cutting, etc., - you know, the 'big' stuff) and also pics of the bride and groom with the respective parent. Also, I think sometimes people customize each parent's album differently - so the bride's parent's album might have more pics of the bride's side of the family (like her uncle, cousins etc) and same for the groom's parents album. Make sense?
