Help with Excel

I am trying to put my guest list into Excel, but I am completely lost... Does anyone have directions to explain how to do it or even better, a template they can email me?

I just had the following columns.

Last Name, First Name, Address, Sent STD, Sent Invite, Recieved RSVP, Table.

This way I was able to sort however I wanted by last name or 1st name

i did this too, but i made the address in a few diff columns, like address, town, state, zip...the spreadsheet is nothing fancy, but it works

i know there's a thing called mail merge to use with word but im not sure exactly how that works and how you have to have the address formatted in excel...does anyone know??
