Can someone *please* explain how Frequent Flyer Miles work?
We're thinking about changing over a card so we can get miles, but really have no idea how miles earned translates to dollars saved?
Any info is appreciated!

Re: Help with Frequent Flyer Miles?!?!
You should refer to the card issuer's website for how their specific program works. Most of them give you 1 point per dollar spent and you can start redeeming at 25,000 points for a round trip ticket within the US. I personally do not have any of these cards. I have a diamond edition card by National City bank. They give you 5 points for each dollar and you can redeem at 100k points for rountrip and 160k for Hawaii. You could check them out at www.nationalcity.com There is no annual fee but you will have to sign up for the points which is also free. You could also try www.chase.com and www.capitalone.com

Re: Help with Frequent Flyer Miles?!?!
we just got the Jetblue card from american express....
you need 100 Trueblue points to get 2 TrueBlue Passes (2 free one-way flights, or 1 round-trip flight)
you get points for every dollar you spend...
you also get a LOT of points for booking Jetblue flights -- for example, i booked a flight to san diego and that was 24 'trueblue' points.
then (i think) at restaurants, movie theaters, and somewhere else.. you get double award dollars for every dollar spent...
otherwise, you get 1 award dollar for every dollar spent. and every $200 = 1 Trueblue Point.
we're moving to San Diego after the wedding, so we figured a Jetblue card would be great for us! There aren't any restrictions on the jetblue flights you can book with your TrueBlue passes.... and you get double points for booking jetblue flights.
