HELP with hair/make-up time!!

My ceremony starts at 3, 5 girls are getting hair and make-up done. What time should they start?!

A friend of mine who also was getting married at 3 and had 5 girls started at 9....she ended up being 20 minutes late and said she wished she started at 8.

ETA: Her make-up person got there at 9 and her hair person at 10 and she felt like it was rushed and wished she started everything an hour earlier.

I depends on how efficient your hair stylist is. Mine was awesome and she asked each person (I had 2 mothers, 3 bridesmaids, 2 flowergirls and me) what they wanted done so she could determine who needed rollers, etc. She came at 9:30 at my ceremony was at 2:30 and everyone was done by 1:15. Everyone's hair looked great and people were commenting on all the ladies' hair, which cracked me up because you usually don't hear those comments. She works fast though...my makeup artist, on the other hand, is completely opposite. She and her mother came and did 6 women. They came at 10 and finished at 1. You need to see the way they work to get a feel for the time...hope this helps

Actually, now that I think about it, she was late also because they had to go back for the boutinnieres. But she said if she could do it again she would either start earlier or have 2 make-up people come. She felt a little rushed.

On the day of my wedding, the following was done:
me- hair & mu
3 bm's - hair & mu
mom - mu
1 bm - hair

The hair/makeup person (one person did both) started at 9am, we left my house at 2:30 for our 3pm ceremony...all worked out perfectly.

It's best to ask your vendors, they know how much time they need.

It depends on what time you need to be ready for your photographer and /or limo.
