We are about to book our honeymoon to England and Ireland. We are having trouble deciding whether or not we want to take a tour with a group or just rent a car and have our own adventure. If we rent a car, we might miss out on what we want to see because we don't know where we are going! But if we go on a tour, we are stuck on their schedule and may be touring with a church group of 95 year old ladies and what kind of honeymoon would that be? But at least we would know that we could see everything we'd like to see. Does anyone have any suggestions?!
Thanks!!!

Re: Help with Honeymoon!!!
Personally i would want to go on my own with FH. You have plenty of time to research places you would want to go. I dont like the tours cause if i end up at something i dont like i can leave not stuck there and on the other hand if we pass something not included on the tour we can stop as well....i like to have that freedom and just overall rather be alone with FH.

That is so funny you say this b/c this was my problem. My Fh and I want to tour Italy, but we don't want to be stuck w/ people all day b/c I don't feel like it is romantic. I suggest, and this is what I may do, find a tour guide that can give you itinerary and maps to places, and go on your own adventure.....I think it would be romantic and really fun...

I wouldn't go on the tour. I think you will have more fun doing things on your own. Just plan ahead and make sure you makr all the places you want to go. Do research and find places you both want to go.

Not sure where you plan to orginate your trip but when I was working in London, I did a bunch of exursions on the weekends to various castles and so forth... So if you commence in London you can take day trips to different places.. You can take bus/trains on organized trips to leeds castle, windsor castle, bath, liverpool, brighton beach, stonehenge.. to name a few.. or another option is find a tour that you like and organize your trip using it as a guideline.. this way you wont miss out on and can map it out prior to leaving... for hotels check out tripadvisor.com they usually have good recommendations...

in italy with the trains and stuff you should have no problems!! my FH and I did it this past summer went from the north to the south making stops to visit families... it wasn't bad... I recommend sitting first class on your longer train rides...
