Soo, Im wondering how the whole process works,, Do I have to pay for the rooms in advance to hold? Or pay for rooms that arent filled up?? I have no clue. Ive been procrastinating on this becuase any OOT people that are invited are staying with relatives. So I dont even know if I need to block off rooms or not. What do you think???

Re: Help with Hotel Blocks!
I actually took care of my hotel bookings not to long ago, heres how it worked for me.
I held rooms in 2 diff. hotels (which were associated with one another) I held 20 rooms in each hotel...one for $85 a night the other $105 a night. You are not suppose to pay for anything!!! They told me that guest have up to 3 weeks before July 14th to book the rooms if not the rooms get released. Thats it! I actually booked the hotels over the phone, and they mailed me the contract a few dys later..I signed it, mailed it back...and they even sent me hotel accomodations cards. Honestly, I procrastinated on this too...for many reasons...but it is soo easy to do. If you have any more questions..feel free to FM me

FYI : Some places hold you accountable for a percentage of the rooms you block. For me, 70% of the rooms I blocked must be taken or I have to pay the difference. I have not even sent out the invites yet and we are at like 50%. I asked around to find out how many people would want to/needed to stay overnight.

Well its very few places that actually charge you a certain amount dont book. Many dont charge you at all. Call some hotels are find out...you should def. do it...always give ur guest that option

I mainly went with that hotel because of the proximity to the hall and the free shuttle. I know many other places have no minimum requirement. This one was just so convenient.

We have a hotel block with a hotel that does not charge you for the rooms that do not get booked. We got a bit of an education from one of the managers that worked at the hotel that we booked the block at. He says if the hotel asks for a credit card that means that whatever rooms do not get booked we would end up paying for. We visited 3 hotels and the 3 one we choosed. If you any other questions FM me.
