Help with Ipod

So my Ipod was originally synced to my compuer at home and now I just tried updating it on my own computer and it says that in order to do so all of my songs will be erased because my library is on another computer....does anyone know I can avoid this from happening?
Thanks so much!!

I’m actually relatively sure there’s no way to avoid this. If my FH was around, I’d ask, because he worked for Apple and knows all these secret and illegal things, lol.

I've never figured out a way to avoid this but you need to use the same computer everytime from what I know... bc the iPod will update with only the songs on that computer's exact iTunes library.

Oh no!! Don't tell me that! LOL.
That is so ridiculous! There has to be a way to deactivate my account at home.

Ok, let me clarify what I wrote above lol The iPod takes whatever songs are in the library of the iTunes you connect it to. If you don't want to use your home computer anymore but want to keep the songs that are on it, you will need to download all those songs into your new itunes computer. Does that make more sense? lol

So I have to re-download all of the cds that I had originally done...right?

No you don't.....

There is a sneaky way of getting everything from your iPod on to your computer.

You have to open Windows Explorer, and search the hard drive on the iPod. Search through the folders until your find your songs and copy and paste them to where you want on your computer.

Here's the tricky part...the folders will look like this:
F1, F16, F22, but these are the folders your songs will be in. Even more confusing is your song files will now be 4 letters of gibberish. For instance instead of the file saying 'Umbrella-Rihanna' it will say something like 'GTWK'. But be rest assured when you load the files the song titles and info will come out normal.

Hope this helps!!!
