HELP WITH MOM'S DRESS....

Any suggestions of places to look for dresses for my Mom. She's on a budget and cannot afford the prices we've seen in the bridal salon's ($500+) and unfortunately, I cannot afford to buy her dress for her.

I know she wants a floor length gown and she's petite (5'4' and size 6). She seems lost in a lot of dresses. Any style suggestions? Stores with reasonable prices?

I live in Forest Hills Queens, my mom lives in Brooklyn (Bay Ridge).

it may be far, but as I stated below, try Metamorphis is St. James. Its great!

my mother is pettite and she didnt look that good in typical mothers gowns so she bought a bm gown. it is very dressy and she and i love it... that is an idea.

My Fiance lives in Forest Hills yeay!! I see a lot of shops around there for dresses...i dont know if they are expensive around there though...but its worth a shot !! good luck!!

Did she check out Department stores like Macy's or Lord and Taylor?

We found my mom a fab and unbelievably inexpensive dress at Jessica McClintock in the Roosevelt Field Mall.

My mom found some amazing dresses in Lord & Taylor in the regular dressy dress section. On sale and with a coupon she paid under $150.

Same here... My mom found a beautiful dress for my brother's wedding at Lord & Taylor for well under $150.

Also, if you're willing to travel, try Estelles in Farmingdale or Burton's.
