So I've read and seen that a lot of you use 1 month prior to your wedding date as your RSVP by date. I just wanted to run it by the manager at my RH to make sure that was good with him...when does he need a final head count by. So I'm confused now - he told me he only needs a rough head count 1 week prior to my wedding...and the final head count with seating just a few days prior. That seems so late to me!?!?!!? I assume I'll want to have the seating finalized a few weeks before so I can have the placecards written out. So - just want to see what you girls think. My wedding date is November 25th...when would you ask for RSVP's back by??? Please note my wedding is over Thanksgiving weekend...so that week of will be a little hectic with the holiday and stuff.
Thanks!!!

Re: help with my RSVP date???
I'm thinking of doing 6 wks prior. cause I'm giving time for those that decide not to respond and you have to chase down.

Re: help with my RSVP date???
My RSVP date was actually about 5 weeks before my wedding. I wanted to have the extra time to make phone calls and track people down who never responded. Plus that gave me more time to figure out the seating and make-up placecards. That said, you could probably go with an RSVP date of October 20.

Re: help with my RSVP date???
our rsvp date was 6 weeks prior to the wedding. that way we had plenty of time to track people down and make changes and do the seating arrangements.
usually, u have to give your hall a final count 10 days b4 your wedding.

Re: help with my RSVP date???
I think most people usually go with a month prior. My hall also doesn't need the count until 10 days before but you will want to have all of your responses in before that so you can track people down and deal with late responders.

Re: help with my RSVP date???
My RSVP date is 6 weeks before the wedding. I chose it to give me the opportunity to track down stragglers before the hotel block closes.
