Help with poem for Dad

I bought my dad the daddy's little girl frame and I found the best picture of me and him from when I had my communion. I am in my little white dress, holding flowers, with a headpiece on. On the other side, where a picture of him and I from my wedding should go....I wanted to write a little something. Ihave books full of poetry I write, but I am stumped on this. Something sweet and sincere and to the point...any suggesstions?

Ok - I found a bunch! Not sure what exactly you are looking for so I will post them. (*ps - let me know if you pick and of them - I love them all*)

To Dad on Our Wedding Day

On our wedding day,
as my husband and I take our vows
and make promises to each other,
I make this promise to you as well;

Even as I take him into my heart and life,
I promise to keep you Dad, in my heart and life always.

For I know that I am able to love and cherish him so much
because you loved and cherished me first.

No one can replace you in this whole wide world,
and after I am married, I'll still be my Daddy’s girl.

My Walk With Dad

When I was small and we would walk,
I held your big, strong hand.
And when life brought me trials and tears,
You said, 'I understand.'
But now you walk me down the aisle
To meet another man.
Yet no one loves a little girl
The way her daddy can.
I've found someone to share my life
And know that you are glad.
And yet a part of both of us
May be a little sad.
For even when I'm old and gray,
Your little girl I'll be.
No matter where I go in life,
Your love will go with me.

Daddy's Little Girl

She's at his heels
begging to go along.
Washing the car together
and singing a silly song.Riding on his shoulders,
laughing on his knees.
A pair where love is mutual
and very plain to see.So like him in a thousand ways,
from her toes up to her curls,
Cry your eyes out Momma,
she's Daddy's Little Girl!(Any Name Here)

To Dad with Love

Some things will always be in style
Good solid things like honesty, and trust and caring about people.

It's qualities like these that keep us aware of who we are
And what we can give to life.

It's qualities like these, Dad, that you've taught me to value,
Through your influence, your example, and your love.

It has made me love you very much,
And has made me very proud to have you for my Dad.

A Child Needs a Daddy

For (Dad's Name Here)

A little girl/boy needs a Daddy
For many, many things:
Like holding her high off the ground
Up where the sunlight sings!

She needs him to be the voice
That will tell her it's all right
When she awakens crying
And needing holding one night.

She needs him to be the man
Who teaches all she needs to know
And be the tower of strength she leans on
The source of love that helps her grow.

God gave you a miracle,
A sweet baby brand new
So we think (Child's Name)is very lucky
To have a great daddy like you.

Re: Help with poem for Dad

I wrote this poem for my Dad.

As we stroll proudly down the aisle
your mind will race to earlier years,
When I used to skin her knees
and you wiped away the tears.
Where did those tender days go,
am I ready for a new stage of life?
And what about that cavalier young man,
is Michael ready for a wife?
This time you'll give me up for good,
not just a Saturday night.
I know that you hope that all me needs are met and that this bond of love is right.
There's so much that I'll have to learn
when the ups and downs get rough.
Like patience and forgiveness
and I know that you hope I'll have enough.
When we are almost at the end of the aisle,
it wil go by much too fast.
I know that you will need more hours than this
to fondly remember the past.
When I let go of your arm the feeling will tugs at your heart.
But you knows that even Michael's love
will never replace your part.
You've done your best to let me grow
and play the role of guide.
I'll be your daughter forever
so today I can be the bride.
