Help with Pots and Pans please

Does anyone know about the pots and pans that aren't non-stick and have a red exterior.
I love the color, but if it's non-stick am I going to burn the food using it?Bed Bath and Beyond Cast Iron Pot Please share some insight.

A very lovely lady in Foruntoff Schooled me on Pots and Pans., she told me not to go with non-stick and I forgot why.

Remember most non-stick is not dishwasher safe so you may want to consider that.

i love cast iron cookware - it's just harder to clean, that's all. i don't think that it burns food more or less quickly than non-stick, it depends on the level of heat you use.

LeCreuset pots are really nice.
Very heavy pots, but cook well.
Your food won't burn unless you have the heat too high.
Never use steel wool (brillo pads) to scrub these pots. If some food sticks, use baking soda on a nylon sponge to scrub it away.

Non-stick is not so good because you cannot cook at high temps. So no searing meats. Non-stick also cannot go into the dishwasher. I also find that non-stick does not brown the food as well.

I use a combination of stainless steel and enamel on steel pots when I cook. I am thinking of adding some LeCreuset pieces to my collection, especially the grill pan.

Le Crueset pots are fantastic. They're not really non-stick, but they're not really meant to be used to fry up eggs or things like that where non-stick would be ideal. They're great for things like soups and stews and rice dishes, lasagnas...stuf like that. Things where they're going to be sitting on the stove or in the oven for a while. They distribute heat very evenly so they're great for slow-cooking. (I used to work part-time at Crate & Barrel so I know lots of stuff about cookware). But also, they're VERY heavy so just be careful. Hope that helps!

I haven't used the type in question, but you probably shouldn't be using non-stick cookware as your everyday cookware. As the pp said, it requires special care--hand wash, must use a plastic brush to clean, and must use plastic utensils to cook with it. For most people, one non-stick pan for eggs, etc. is enough. You can't deglaze in a non-stick pan, either.

Have you checked out cooking literature or other sources about how enameled cast iron compares as a cooking medium to other types of materials (e.g., anodized, stainless steel, etc.)? The color should be less of a concern here than the material's actual functionality.
