I recently got engaged and now beginning to think where i would like the reception. I want to stay in the price range of about $50-$65 pp. I recently went to the swan club. They said 55 for sunday and 65 for saturday (If anyone has any other information about the swan club please let me know). I love it but i also want to have other choices. I also went to jericho terrace but they were way out of my price range. Also planning to have it around July/August 04. Thanx

I really want an evening but if I have to go with the afternoon then that would be fine with me.

Re: Help With Reception Locations
I'm having my reception at the Swan Club on a Saturday afternoon this coming July. Although it was not my first choice (but in the top 3), we booked there because 1 - my FI loved it and knew people who went there and raved about it 2 - we loved where our ceremony and cocktail hour are going to be held 3- they have gorgeous gardens where we're having our pictures taken, which means everything will be at one location 4- because the price was less than other places we looked at, we can spend more money on photos and honeymoon!
We also looked at Stewart Manor Country Club, which was reasonable and is highly recommended here. Good luck!

Re: Help With Reception Locations
My FI loved it also and will doesn't want to look at anything else. He wanted to put the down payment on it when we were there and that was the first place we had been. But I had to convince him that we have to look more. I love the garden outside and especially the garden room. My FI and I are very private people, so we also like the location.

Re: Help With Reception Locations
I've been to the Swan Club and they do have beautiful grounds.
I have a friend that got married at the Coral House and she said they were not expensive at all. Maybe you could look there.

Re: Help With Reception Locations
I went to Verdi of Westbury and their price was very good. We did not book with them because the ventilation was not very good in that it smelt like cigarette smoke all over and I did not like that. v Besides that the rooms are very spacious and the place itself is beautiful.
Chateau Briand gave us a $59.00 a person plus tax and gratuity if we booked on a Sunday on Easter Weekend. The date did not work for us but my point is that reception sites can decrease the price if they want to for dates that are less in demand.
How big is your party?

Re: Help With Reception Locations
I was also going to suggest the Meadow Club. They have prices in that range. The Meadow Club
They are (right now) 125 people but i have a feeling that the number will rise. On the other hand, if i need to have a smaller wedding in order for price then that will be my second option.

Re: Help With Reception Locations
Where are you from? My reception is at Bayview House at Captain Bills. It sounds alittle Weird 'Captain Bills', but the Room called the Bayview House is beautiful!!! The food is excellent and the price is affordable. I think I'm paying $75 for a Friday night. The website is www.CaptainBills.com you should look at it. The room holds about 250 people. The cocktail hour is out on the deck, so your time would be nice. Also the Port Jeff Country Club is nice too.

Re: Help With Reception Locations
I would try either the Meadow Club or the Stewart Manor CC. Both are really nice and a lot of people have great things to say about them.
