Ok so I have a dilemna. My haircomb that my MOH ordered just came in and its BIG. Not horrendus but very eyecatching. Big enough I had to return my dangle earrings and go with studs. Its has a vintage sort of feel to it and will look amazing with my dress (so much more confident about it now) but I definetly think it will clash with my original intention to wear a heavy lace edge veil.
Really bummed about that and even moreso because now I have to think of new veil ideas again!
This was the original veil...
Gorgeous I know. But my hairstyle is going to be similar to this below
but my hairpiece is going to go on the side like the flower in this picture because it looks weird in the back of the head and the top on me because my hair is so short-sorta swirls and curves. Its about as big as those flowers too LOL I KNOW sounds so tacky but its really gorgeous. Maybe I'll try and get a picture taken this weekend to show you guys. This is the piece.
I am at a loss as to what veil to wear. Can anyone post pics of styles? Only Cathedral or fingertip I think-don't like the in-between ones. I wanted to wear a blusher but don't think I can with the piece. Would I tuck it into the back of the curls?
HELP ladies please! TIA.

Re: HELP with veil..back to the dang drawing board!
i was nervous when you showed pics of the large flowers, cause although i think theyre beautiful, theyd be too much with the veil you chose (which by the way is also very pretty) i do think though that the spray you showed was more delicate, maybe still too big for the veil, but very pretty.. i had a very large comb, it was worn to the side like youre describing, and my veil had alot of clear crystal work..so although it was beautiful and had alot of detail, it didnt look gawdy, you can take a look if youd like..and if you want any info on the veil FM me ;)

I actually think my veil would go really nicely witht he comb since its pretty plain, but has decorationa round the edges and the design kind of matches your headpiece

Princess, I was thinking of soemthing like that-sticking the veil int the back... I wanted to wear the blusher originally for sentiment sake with ym dad but I guess they aren't really used that much anymore anyway.

I think I actually asked you about your veil once lol. BEcause I loved it-had the floral motif on the edges right? Do you have a better pic than in your album? A little blurry. Ty guys!

Re: HELP with veil..back to the dang drawing board!
Thanks! I am going to have to try this one on. My only concern is 'poof.' It doesnt look that poofy on you, but in my album there is a pic of me with a short veil on and I look like a marshamallow from neck up. I want it pretty sleek
Erdbeere, you can't wear it as a blusher can you?

yea, its a 2 tier, so I'll just be putting the top tier over my head.
as far as poof goes... its not extremely poofy, but might not be as sleek as you are looking for.

I like where you have the spray placed in your hair. Looks beautiful on all those curls. Can you place the veil low on the back of your head, under the hair, and then pull the blusher over, or would that make the blusher too short ? Will you wear your veil during the reception ?

Thats not me hunny lol. I said its the piece but not on me. I have very short hair more like the other 2 pics. I am afraid pulling the blusher over will make it too short so I'll have to try different veils on.

check out the veil in my 'items for sale' album. Its cathedral but a bit simpler w/ just a touch of pearls at the last foot of the fingertip and cathedral. very pretty. GL!

I know you didn't mention it, but what about one of those cage-type veils, and then secure it underneath the hair comb thing in the back... kind of like in the wedding scene at the end of sweet home alabama (I love that veil on her!!!)

If you're going to wear such a large piece on the side of your head, I would put a one layer veil under the curls at the back, almost at the nape of your neck. One layer so that it's not heavy. If you want to put some crystals on it, that would be OK, just not very many, or you could do a silver pencil edge like on mine to pick up the silver in your hairpiece. If you don't get what I mean, make it look like when women put the veil underneath a bun at the back of their heads, just without the bun. It might look silly, but I don't think so. It's hard to say unless I saw you in it. I like that look a lot myself, the veil low on the back of the head. I just can't do it myself as I have quite long hair that I'm wearing down in back.

You mean the birdcage veil? I was looking at this site the other day, they have lovely and not terribly expensive ones:
