Help! Wording

Help! Wording

We want to exclude any children under the age of 5 from the wedding. We just feel that they are too young & will be cranky the whole time.

We can't write 'Adult only reception' on the invitation, because we will have over 20 children between the ages of 7-14.
What is the best way to state that children younger than 5 are not included on the invitation?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

to be honest, i cant imagine anything you write will be ok.

I feel that a 7 year old could be more cranky than a good five year old. Unless you put adult only on the invite and then actually put the names of the children you do want to be allowed to come on the envelope - that specifies that its ok for them to come

You would out the adult only part on the response card. People will understand. I am not having kids at my wedding either

We are not having any children under the age of 13 at our wedding. I think we are just going to make it clear to the family. And we''ll send individual invites and NOT write Mr. & Mrs. and family.

I'm REALLY worried about this. Apparently someone may bring a baby that will be a little over a month old to mine! I am imagining stinky diapers, breast feeding....UGH!

Don't put 'and Family' on the envelope. If they know proper etiquette, they will know that it does not include their children. If they don't know propert etiquette, you'll probably need to say something. Tread lightly - people get really offended when you say you don't want children.

I am only allowing my first cousins and kids of BP at the reception. So I did put Adult Reception on my card bc I didn't want other people to try to bring their kids.
