Hi! This board is great..I am getting married on 11/05/05 and have the catering hall and band. What should be my next priority, photo flowers dress? any suggestions with vendors? I am feeling really overwhelmed..thanks! debbie

Definitely photographer. The good ones book very early. We used Patken (Doug/Evan) and were extremely happy. Your dress should be priortity too...sometimes they take awhile to come in... Good luck!

The knot has a great step by step planning guide...its lets you know when you should take care of what.
also borders or barnes and nobles has some really nice wedding planners to choose from....most have planning timelines in them as well.

I would agree: photographer. Also gown, hair and makeup. Like other girls said, the good ones book up early!!
Also I would just start a file (if you don't already have one) of ideas: songs, pics, flowers, ceremony ideas, etc. I bought an accordion file (but I am too disorganized to use it yet)

I would make a list of everything you need and start reading reviews on the different vendors. FH and I found the wedding shows to be very helpful, but a recommendation from a bride is better IMO. Also figure out how much you want to spend, that makes a difference over which vendors you can chose from.
Best part of all the planning is scratching something off of your list I've had one book with all of my notes, conversations, appointments, business cards, etc and I have lived by it since the beginning

congrats and welcome...i learned that if you want a good makeup artist...BOOK ASAP..im getting married in october and alot of the reccomended makeup artists are booked....
i say look into photographers and videographers next. if your budget allows, i'd suggest looking into willi wong, lina jang, or something in blue or verdi. they all do amazing work!

congrats and welcome!!! i would suggest the dress, that can take a few months to come in...the photographers and DJs also book quickly, so that would be next. there are some good time checklists in magazines and websites that are a big help too-i've used them a lot since i am clueless!! good luck!
