oh my goodness. the same thing happen to us. I told her that we should look at a couple of more places since the hall said they would refund money up to a certain time. I told her if she wants it there I probably wouldn't invite as many friends since I thought the place was not so great. She then said she would look at one or two more places. We went to the Royalton at the Roslyn Country Club and when she saw it she glowed and I knew she was hooked. They came in at a little bit more $ than the other place but it is going to be worth every penny. Tell her exactly what you think especially if you are paying for the wedding. Good Luck. Keep us posted.

I agree....if you feel that booking this particular reception hall will be a mistake then say so and continue looking. There are so many beautiful places to choose from that you shouldn't just settle for something that is making you uneasy. You can always go back if you do not find anything else that you like and that is in your price range, just keep in mind that sometimes it is better to pay a little extra to get what will make you the happiest.
Good Luck and yes please keep us posted.

Thanks ladies! I actually decided to tell my daughter this morning and she took it better than I thought. She felt that since we are paying for it, we have every right to express our opinion. She encouraged me to take things up with the hall that she had picked and get answers for the things that disturbed us and also to call the other hall to see if they were still available, which they were. But the owner of the first hall called us ASAP this morning and all was explained reasonably. They reassured us that they are remodeling and that would explain the things we saw. I feel so much better today than I did last night. I think us Mom's stress more than the brides!! But I just want things to be perfect for that day....of course nothing is actually 'perfect' but I'll settle for close.

That's great and hopefully he gave you a time frame of when all the remodeling will be done. You are quite correct us moms do stress more than our kids....I guess that's why we are the moms.

Happy you had that talk with your daughter. Ditto to the stress factor. I want to just get everything done with and it seems that she feels she has all the time in the world. Good luck with the rest of your planning
