Do you select a RH room size based on number of people on guest list or based on number of people you think will come?
If all the people on our guest list say 'yes', then the room that we want might be a little small (it will handle the number of people, but it would be very close to the maximum capacity). So, should we select a bigger room.
If we use the number of people that we think will come, then the room that we want will be big enough.
HELP!!!!!
TIA

Re: Help...Guest List vs Room Size
we first had 90 people on our list it grew to about 133 now. We had given them our min at about 80 but the room holds about 175-200 (can't recall right now). So my advice to you either cut the list or find a different room. I would just go with the max to your list because you never know if your adding more people it seems to happen no matter how hard you try. This why even with the percentages of no that do exist you wont have to worry about a packed room.
I booked with the guest list in mind. And thank god I did at first I had a list of 125, and that went right out the window. Now I'm at 175.

Re: Help...Guest List vs Room Size
I think based on the number of guests you orignally invite - Say 3/4 of your guests come there will be space to move around vs. being alittle tight.

Yeah I choose my room because I know I am going to have a big wedding, (240 +) if alot of people come or less people come it will still be spacious enough

Re: Help...Guest List vs Room Size
The list started at 200 and grew into 250. Our room holds 225 max, I want it at 180 so it will be totally comfortable!! If you have the option to geta bigger room, then maybe you should! Expect a 20% no on your RSVP's. GL!

Re: Help...Guest List vs Room Size
Our room holds up to about 250 people, but we're having probably about 100-110. We got that room because it's the only one they have. I saw the room set up for a party of about 100 & it looked great. Not too empty at all.
When I looked at other halls, they had give them the total numer we were inviting so that if everyone were to show up, we'd have a place to put them.

Re: Help...Guest List vs Room Size
Definitely get a bigger room. We originally thought that we were going to have 150 people and we wound up inviting 268. It's amazing how everyone 'forgot' about all of the 'important' people that 'needed' to be invited.

Re: Help...Guest List vs Room Size
the rule of thumb (and is surprisingly accurate) is that 20% of your guests won't be able to come...
if your room can accommodate all guests, even if it's a little crammed, your room size will likely be perfect once the RSVPs are in.
