Any thoughts... I am considerring both but would love some input on the food and service. I am a little concerned about The Riviera in particular.
I have been looking everywhere for a Sat eve. that would do 100-125 minimum that is 1 wedding at a time for $100 a person (including tax and gratuity and I am willing to do offpeak time like March & April). I am trying to go simple and elegant with good food and it has been REALLY TOUGH! Either dates are not available or I do not meet the minimum.....or too $$$$ or like The Vineyard they are in the middle of nowhere and there are no hotels or a place for people to hang out at after the reception.
The Harbor Club only has March avail. (but I am worried it is too cold so the whole watefront feel is lost) and Riviera has dates available but as I mentioned above I am a little concerned. HELP!!

Hi there, I am a Riviera bride 7/30/04. What exactly are your concerns with the place maybe I could help. I just fell in love with the place because it is unique. Have you been there yet? i think it would be perfect for your size wedding. FM if you have any questions.

My sister had her wedding at Riveria last August and let me just say that if she didn't have it there, then that is exactly where i would go. Loved it. Great food, great views, great prices.

Hi! I am a Harbor Club bride! I can say from experience that their food and service are top of the line! I used to work for the company, too and they really have high standards! Maureen there is so great and extremely helpful. FM me if you want more information, but as you can see my vote is for the Harbor Club!!

Re: Help.....Harbor Club or Riviera at Massapequa
I am a Riviera Bride for Dec 2004. I fell in love with this reception hall, as so did my FH. We had been shopping around for a while and when we both went there, we knew we found the place. We booked only a few days after meeting with Cristy. She is wonderful and did good on the price for us. I attended their Show Case a while back and it was great. They sure do have some great house vendors worth looking into as well. The food was awesome. We are having a wedding of 130 people. For this reception hall, I wouldn't go any higher, because it is small. But, like another bride said 'it is unique'. They have two great bridal suites and the fact that their is only one wedding at a time, thrills me. A lot is included with the price as well.... you get the cake 'any style' from Black Forest Bakery and they also throw in center pieces if you are not too perticular. The center piece is a simple vase with your choice of any color roses with some babies breath. But for mine, I got holly & berries to be mixed in with Red/White roses for my X-mas theme wedding. I am also coloring the water green, because the vases are clear. Another special touch that they are doing for me (free of charge) is instead of greeting my guest with Champagne w/ strawberries, I WILL BE HAVING THEM SERVE 'EGG NOG'. Once again, to add to my theme. So I totally suggest you taking a closer look into the Riviera. If I can be of anymore assistance, feel free to FM me. Good luck! Let us know what you decide.

My FSIL went to look at the Harbor Club, and loved it, but hated the nasty woman working there, Maureen, she was mean and was nasty to some employees. I would vote Rivirea

OMG Lauren! I was considering the Harbor Club only because Maureen was so nice and helpful and the service seemed so great. My FI disagreed over the place, he wanted us to book there because he liked Maureen so much. We ended up with the NRC because I liked the atmosphere better.

I was to a wedding at the Riviera about a year ago. It was great. The place is so cozy and quaint, great views, the food was really good and service was excellent. I'd definately recommend it.

I too have to come in Maureen's defense as she has been nothing but a doll to us. She is extremely helpful and professional with years of experience. The place runs like a well oiled machine because of her. The Harbor Club really does a wonderful job. Really...you should go with whichever location YOU like best and makes you feel the most comfortable!
