Help...Honeymoon suggestions!!

Hi girls....

FH and I are having the hardest time deciding on where to go for our honeymoon. We want to spend between $4K - $5K including airfare.

Its not only special because its our honeymoon, but also because this will be our first 'real' vacation together to an island!!

Any suggestions?

We are going to sandals -- St. Lucia -- I heard from everyone that it is beautiful. We booked 8 nights prize what we are paying is a little more than what you are budgeting for HOWEVER, I not sure how many nights you are looking to go away for. It might be something forth looking into.

What we really liked about it is that it is all inclusive so we aren't going to get hit with an unexpected/outragious bar bill or food bill. We know the full amount of what we are getting into right away.

Try Mexico! We're looking at the El Dorado (its an all inclusive resort) and 10 days including airfare will be less than $5k.

you can do 1 week in aruba for about $4-$5k all inclusive with air.

We booked a week at Couples Swept Away in Jamaica - room/airfare/all inclusive package for about $3500. Then we are going to Disney! At first we didn't want couples because it seemed so typical, but the more we found out the more it sounded great - particularly all the water sport inclusions!

Thanks for the great ideas!! I will look into them.

I would love to add a 3-4 day end to our honeymoon in Disney but that will take a lot of convincing to FH!! LOL

Try Excellence Riviera Cancun in Riviera Maya, Mexico. It gets great reviews on trip advisor. I haven't even gone yet, and I am recommending it to everyone!!

most carribean cruises fit that budget & also check out Punta Cana in the Dominican Reoublic. I loved the DR & it was really affordable.

you write that as if that's a shoestring budget... it's sooo not one! You can go anywhere in the western hemisphere or europe for that $$$$.

we have about the same budget and are going to athens, crete, and santorini for 10 days... a lovely combination of culture, history, and some of the most famous beaches in the world.... and we're going close to the high season, when rates become the most expensive. I'm certain that you can do even something more outrageous since your honeymoon will be in october...

We had no travel agent... we booked all flights and hotels online one evening. As a resource to DIY vacation planning, I highly recommend picking your dream destination and then selecting hotels through tripadvisor.com. their reviews are candid, and they have a linkout to several major vacation websites (such as orbitz and travelocity) to find the cheapest price for the hotel you selected...

Aw Tricia we will just miss you! We'll be there from 8/5 until 8/11.

Highlyfavored - we decided on the Atrium Suite. A few of the other more expensive rooms actually fit our budget, but we liked the seclusion and tropical feel of the Atrium room. Plus a hammock and no TV, so romantic!

I second the Dominican Republic! The cost for what you get is great. Probably Punta Cana would be the best bet for you. All the resorts there are all inclusive...that way you don't have to worry about money once you get there. FH and I were in Secrets Excellence Punta Cana last October and LOVED it! ( I know Secrets and Excellence has since split, so I don't remember which name it is under anymore) I would highly rec. it and we got it for a great price, way under your budget.

We did a week in Disney and a week in Punta Cana, DR for around that. Look into All Inclusives in Punta Cana (we stayed at the Riu Palace Punta Cana and loved it) and some of the Disney packages. There are some great deals out there.

P.S. My cousin got married at Beckwith Pointe--beautiful place. Enjoy!!
