Okay, so here's the deal. I've been SO lazy the whole summer, my wedding is in 11 months, and I've only booked the church/hall. I'm going to book the DJ next....the thing is, I have no idea how I'm going to choose one. Do I pick someone who recommends them? Do I pick someone from this website?
When I went to a bridal show at Jericho Terrace, there was this DJ stand w/guys dressed in tuxes and they had their video playing...I forget the name tho, but they seemed pretty good..Does anyone know the name? Or anyone they can recommend ? Thanks so much!

The best thing to do is see them in action yourself. Think of who you saw at previous weddings and go take a look at them at a showcase. Its best to see them live so you can get a sense of what they will be like at your wedding! I recommend LI Sound or tommy tunes.

we booked FM Entertainment. If you go meet w/ Frank, you get a private showcase and if you book them after going to a showcase, you get $100 off any extra services (like live musicians, etc)

I think its like everything else.. you just know. We saw three DJ's and when we saw ours, he left the room for a minute, and FH said to me 'get out your checkbook' We booked Bravura.

I am using Music by Michael, he gets great reviews, you should do a search on him. Go check him out. Fm if you want prices on DJ, photos,video, florist.

I went with Bravura - but at the JT showcase I went to, I saw Body Rock and Starlight Express.

Same as others have said on this board, as with all of our vendors, we just 'knew' when we found our DJ. We have Frank from FM Entertainment. It took us all of maybe 2 minutes to make the decision, but we knew it.

Was is Starlight Express? They are a house band at Jericho. To be honest, they are great but they are really into the whole clubby thing and they blast their guests away. Maybe I'm just old. BUT, definitely check out a whole bunch and make sure it's someone who fits your style and who will do what you want.
