helping or hurting??

as i'm sitting here, fm'ing with sararadio5 about my lollipop purchase for my candy buffet, and reading/posting on the thread about 'waste of money'... IT HIT ME!!!!!!!!!!!

are we helping or hurting one another????

we come here and share our great finds, our diy projects, internet shopping discount codes, we share shippping costs

and then.....
we share our ideas and suddenly we WANT WHAT SHE'S DOING!!!!

and we go out and spend all that money we just saved OR SPEND MORE THAN WE HAD PLANNED!!!!!!!!!!!

this is too funny.

don't get me wrong, i'm loving every minute of this... even my breakdown the other day

so, what do you think?????

are we helping or hurting?

I think we are helping each other, but we all must use discipline to make sure we don't buy something just because 'she' has it. Make sure it means something to you!!!

I agree....a lot of girls have things on here that are just not for me, or that I can't afford....you just have to keep yourself in check once and a while...and other times, splurge when it is right....

it can be either or ...depending on the person. i mean i think this has helped me a lot....and i admit there are things that i see others have and i want it...but i know i can't afford it.

i'm sure there are some bridezillas who see things here and DEMAND that they have the same thing...no matter what. i think those types are gonna be like that whether they get ideas or not from others

I think it is helping. The hard part is keeping a straight head and remembering what my budget is and knowing what I can and can't afford. But overall I think LIW has been a BIG help.

In SOME ways, I think we can end up hurting each other... then we go home and talk to the 'normal' people in our lives who drag us back down to reality and keep us in this solar system when it comes to spending so we have a nice balance of getting the things we really WANT on our one wedding day, without getting EVERYTHING, like we're the next episode of Platinum Weddings! Thanks to my parents and fiance, I'm NOT spending almost $1000 on a chocolate fountain, even though I really wanted it! But, thanks to this website, I AM getting a chocolate buffet, which I NEVER knew existed before!

(by the way... sorry I was the enabler that just made you spend over $100 on lollipops... I felt the same way last week... but think how we'll feel when we see them on our WEDDING DAY! Now I sound like a dealer!! ).

you're too much. i was going to get them... i just didn't know of a vendor to trust with my CANDY yeah, 'cause that's so important.

i think most of use have a good balance... just remember the thread of 'trends you're not doing'.

i'm happy that my budget is as small as it is, and that i'm running out of time or else, who knows

i just think the whole thing is hysterical
