There is also a lovely, small castle on the campus of Manhattanville College in Westchester.

The Woodlands in Woodbury is also a mansion, but significantly smaller & they don't have a site fee!

My sister got married here, its called Reid Castle, but how small are you talking? I think their min was 120 people for a Sat night and in 2009 it was $160 pp
It is an absolutely beautiful space and you get to use the whole castle and grounds! HTH your friend!
ETA pics of the castle in my albums under 'My Sisters Wedding'

i'd love to hear what you narrowed it down to before you chose the royalton and how your experiences have been so far...i'm between there and the woodlands for a wedding of about 200 people in 2013...how did u find having to work with THEIR flower vendors...

The Royalton was the 1st place i looked at. When I left i felt that 'this was the place'. but part of me thought maybe i felt that way just bc it was the first place i saw. However that feeling never left.
I didnt want the typical cookie cutter wedding. I felt Royalton was teh perfect match. Very quaint and cozy...and different. I love the fact that everything is customized- especially the menu!! Ive been working with Mike T (and Gerard) and they have been MORE THAN accomodating. They are making special exceptions for requests that I have asked of them. I even had to make some changes and they easily could of charged me for them and they did not. I had the choice of stefans or spitz and peckar for flowers. I used stefans and the price isnt horrible. I also negotiated them down 1000 less than their original proposal!!! Any questions- fm me!
