HELP..Planning New York Wedding from Sydney Australia

Need Help!!!
I am planning a New York wedding for October 2014.

So far i have emailed 3 places for a reception and no one has responded....feeling dis-heartened already.

Don't get me wrong, i knew it was going to be a challenge since i am over the other side of the world but to get no one to email me back is sad.

Not sure what do to.....

I first started communicating with most places via e-mail. They wouldn't give me any price quotes so I totally see where you're coming from, but hopefully they'll be flexible since you're not exactly down the block...

Are there any specific places you're looking into? My price quotes are for Jan. 2014...If you check weddingsitesandservices.com they have alot of pricing information. If you have any venues specifically you want to know about maybe post them so some of the girls can contribute!

I had the same experience. I found most places were more willing to talk about pricing when I called rather than emailed, but I'm sure calls from Australia to NY aren't cheap. I agree with Chaz. Post the names of some of the venues you're looking at. The girls on this site have been great with sharing their price quotes!

I have only really been drawn to 3 places so far:
Russos on the bay
Douglaton Manor
Chateau Caterers NY
Does anyone have any info on those?

I didn't go see those 3 vendors, but you might have more luck if you post this on the 'Brides Helping Brides' thread. I think more brides tend to read and respond to that one than this one...it's still a little slow here :)
