We had the FOG/FOB in the same tux as the GMs but a platinum vest/tie while the GMs wore green vests/ties. HTH.
we had our dads wear the same tux as the groomsmen but different ties. gm had pink reg ties but the dads wore black bowties
I think he is supposed to match whatever the mother of the groom wears, not wear what the groomsmen wear
