Re: HELPPPPP I just spilled red wine
got this off of a website
Another method that works is simply to pour some white wine over the stain and leave for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes soak up the excess wine with a teatowel and hopefully the red wine stain should have disappeared.
Further to the above, I've also found that using a nappy/diaper to soak it up can be very effective - it absorbs it all.
Also you could try some ammonia.
Other sites list salt as one that dosen't work, but I just tried it, and it seemed to work quite well. Now you can drink the white wine, instead of spilling it on your carpet!.

Re: HELPPPPP I just spilled red wine
I just saw this on Good Morning America!
ok. all you do for red wine is pour A LOT of salt on the spot.. but be sure to cover a lot of surface area around the stain b/c when the salt soaks it up, it will look like its spreading.
let it dry overnight. then vacuum in the morning.
then take a few paper towels, lay them over the spot and place a phone book (or anything somewhat heavy) over the towels and leave for another 24 hours.
your stain should be gone.
HTH!
(not sure if this works for the sofa, but for the walls you could try the mr clean magic eraser.. those things are amaaaazing!)
