since i'm having my ceremony and cocktail hour outside (weather permitting), i feel i need to inform my guests to bring a jacket/sweater in case it gets chilly.
my invitations have already been printed and to add a reception card would require her to resize the other insert cards and reprint them, but she would do it.
the other thing i was thinking is that after i get my rsvp's, maybe i could send out a card with a little weather poem. i was just searching on liw and i found this (obviously, i would need to change it around, but you get the drift):
April can be a tricky month when it comes to the weather Makes it hard to decide if you should bring sunglasses , an umbrella or sweater!
So when it's time to pick out your attire, your tie, your dress, your shoes, Check back here for the forecast So you're prepared for the 'I do's'!
what do you think i should do?
eta: credit to wishingwell1230 on the cute poem; great job!

Re: HELPPPPPP!
I would weigh out the price difference between having her add a reception card and ordering small envelopes and enclosure cards from cardsandpockets.com and diying the cute poem. Then I would make my decision based on that. They are both cute. If it were close in price I would probably have her just do them.

Yes!! This! I would have her do it! So they will match perfectly and you wont have to do anything yourself! JMO! Good Luck, let us know what you decide to do!!

I think your guests would already be wearing something based on the weather but if you're concerned I would send the poem or post something on you wedding website (if you have one)
ETA- I've been to outdoor weddings in mid-october and it's still pretty warm.

I am sure I am in the minroity on this one (by the way I LOVE THE POEM) but I think people will come prepared with something to wear. My mom is always gold so she always brings a shawl for the air conditioning, I agree that you can post this on your website or something.

that's the thing.. i feel like it could still be warm, but i just want to give them a heads up.
i won't mention any names, but i can already hear certain people b1tching about it.

I love this pamela. The poem is so cute and I think its really person that you send them out after everyone rsvps. I'd go with that idea.

Re: HELPPPPPP!
Are the invites already glued down to the pocket? Because you can reprint these with a little note at the bottom saying Outdoors or something.
If this isn't an option I would ask the cost to resize everything and add another insert, or maybe even reprint one insert and have it double-sided?
As much as I love the poem, I don't think it'll be that much cheaper because of postage, and then it's just another thing you have to worry about getting done before the wedding. I would rather have HER do something to fix it and take the stress off you.

Re: HELPPPPPP!
my other thought is that if it isn't good weather (rain, etc.), my ceremony and cocktail hour won't be outside, which would make having a reception card a waste.
if i go with the poem, i can have a better indication of the weather when september rolls around.

at this point, i don't care about the cost. i would only send the poem to people that rsvp'ed yes and i'm sure it would only cost one stamp per envelope.

Re: HELPPPPPP!
What if you sent a postcard instead of an envelope enclosure? They have some cute ones on vistaprint and every so often you get an offer for 100 free postcards. I think postcards are cheaper on postage too
OH, btw, love the poem! My friend was complaining that she went to a wedding in April and it didn't say on the invite that the ceremony was outside and she was freezing!

ITA with this
i dont think it's necessary at this point.
you could put it in your OOT bags too and post on your wedding website! women usually bring some sort of sweater to a wedding because they know it's indoors

Re: HELPPPPPP!
I would wait until you get RSVPs and send out a postcard or something (29 cents) to those people coming or include them in your OOT bags...
Don't take this wrong but it's pretty much common sense that you should be prepared for weather..

im in the same boat here! i was going to have a shawl basket out at cocktail hour kinda like a slipper basket but then my mom made a good point, not everyone will see it at cocktail hour because there is so much food and everyones mingling she thought people wouldnt take them and i'd have a lot leftover. so we compromised and now im using them at my shower, we're tying them to the back of the chairs to look like chair wraps and they will have a little note to wear it to our wedding to keep warm at our outdoor cocktail hour.
and if people still b1tch and complain about it being cold well its just too bad for them
