10 days from the wedding and my biggest worry is that my finger is infected!
Last Friday I got a manicure at a place near where I work that I THOUGHT was clean, and the girl cut the cr@p out of my cuticle by accident. Not a big deal, it stung but I got over it.
It still hurt the rest of the day but was ok for a day or two.... and now starting yesterday it's starting to get red and looks a little gross and hurts more!
How do you know if it's infected? I've been soaking it in peroxide and I'm trying to avoid going to the dr since I have so much other stuff to do. Ugh, perfect timing, I'l have 9 fingers in all my wedding pics.
ETA: OK, so I'm taking a half day and going to the dr. today. Completely unrelated and maybe a stupid question - but can a dr provide just like a week's worth of Xanax? I haven't needed it yet but figured it might be good to have around.

peroxide and put neosporin on it and keep it covered when you are out and about but at home let the air get to it..
OH and soak in hot and I mean HOT water

OMG, I had an infection like on on my finger when I got engaged. No worries, put really HOT water in a cup with Epson (sp) salt. Its really hot, but keep doing in like 3x a day. Then TMI, try and squeeze the puss out of it.. yes sounds gross, but it worked for me.. Hurts like hell - but in two days it'll be better!

I think you should def go to a dr - that way you can make sure everything is ok - and d dr would most likely put you on an antibiotic - that will help clear the infection.
Definitely soak it with Epsom salt - cover it during the day and keep it open at night to air it out
you will be ok as long as you take care of it

DH had something like this recently. I sterilized a sewing needle and punctured the skin. He squeezed the pus out (sorry so nasty!) I used peroxide and put triple-antibiotic ointment (polysporin) with a bandaid - it was all better in two days. Feel better!
