HELP..Problem with BM dress place

The girls dresses came in a few days ago and the place called me to let me know. One of my girls went down to pick up her sisters dress to ship upstate and when she went to pay the balance they told her it was $40 extra for all dresses for rush shipping. They didnt tell any of us about the rush fee and it wasnt writen on any receipts. Now i have most of my girls calling me pissed off that they wernt told about it and will not pay. I dont blame them, can this place get away with this?? What should i do?

they should be clear about the shipping fees and I would ask to speak with a manager.

can they take the dress & ship it them selves?

no it wasnt about them shipping the dress to the girl upstate. they said they had to order the bridesmaids dresses rush shippment which they never told us and when she went to pay for the dress and pick it up to send to her sister they told her that they all will have to pay $40 extra because they had to rush order the dress. It wasnt mentioned or writen on the receipt

then they shouldn't have to pay at all. a rush charge should definitely be put on the receipt!!

Thank you, i will call them tomorrow morning and see what they say. All the girls are going for their fittings tomorrow night and i know they will start a big thing about this so hopefully we will be able to work it out in the morning. When my cousin went to pick up her sisters dress they woman told her that she told the bride about the rush fee. They didnt say anything to me about that. Even if they didnt write it on the receipt they had my # and all the girls #'s so they should have called and told us about the rush fee before they ordered the dresses.

If the rush fee was NOT put on the order receipt you have then I would NOT pay it.

these people are really pissing me off now. My cousin went down there this morning and the lady told her that they called me and asked about the rush fee and i said ok. They never called me. The only time they called me was when the dresses came in 3 days ago. What should i do?

DO NOT PAY!!! I would def. fight this. Have you spoken to the manager of the store yet. The rush charge should have been written on the receipt, so if it wasn't then you are not responsible for it.

thats what i told her, they are telling me and my girls that i am lying. When we went to pick out the dresses i picked out 2 that i liked. A girl that worked there said it will be easier to order the red dress and that if we wanted the gold dress it will have a rush fee cause that company only ships every 4 months. so we went with the red dress. The dresses were enough money in the 1st place i didnt want to add on an extra $40. The owner is saying she called me to tell me about the $40 rush fee meanwhle they never did. I am so upset and pissed. My girls are calling me fighting with me like its my fault now. This really sucks.

If they didnt put it in writing with your signature it is not binding. Believe me if they offered something to you free of charge and you didn't get it in writing they would say 'sorry, we don't have that in writing!'

These stores know that they MUST have everything in writing and on the receipt - sounds like they're trying to rip you off. And even if the owner did call you I'm sure she would have asked you or someone to come to the store and sign for this extra charge.

Can I ask what store this is ? The reason I ask is beacause my girls got charged $40 for a 'larger' size (about a small 16) and $40 for extra length (which I paid for since I felt guilty about them having to spend so much money) so it was just sounding familiar to me!!!

Ive been going back and forth with the manager, Now shes telling me i was there when she placed the order and told me there was a $40 rush fee. Well i dont remember and my aunt that was with me doesnt remember either. All my girls are pissed cause they are the ones paying for the dresses, they said even if i said ok to the $40 they should have called each girl to ask them...they are not budging on the $40. She said the reason its not on the receipt is because she placed the order days after each girl put money down on the dress so she couldnt write it on the receipt. This is really stressing me out. I said i will pay the $320 for rush shipping cause i really dont need to be dealing with this now. All my girls but 2 said no way that if they have to pay it they will. I have so much stuff that needs to be done and fighting back and forth with the dress place isnt one if them.

Ok there are a few things you can do:

1) Refuse to pay. - But you might not get the dresses.

2) Pay by credit card - when you pay tell them it is under protest and WRITE this on the receipt that you were not told but that you HAD to pay to get the dress - then tell them you will take it up with BBB and small claims for the money.

OR

3) Pay by check - write that you are paying under protest to get the dresses ON the check - this way there is a record if you have to do anything with BBB etc down the road.

Sorry you are going thru this but if it wasn't on your receipt I would say they screwed up and are pulling a fast one.

I would not give in with these people. They are banking on the fact that your wedding is only a month away. 40 dollars is a lot when you are talking about a bm dress. If it was your gown, that is one thing. I would def fight them, if it is not written down, then it is not valid at all and you would def win in small claims court. I would fight it for a couple more days and then start a small claims court proceeding. If you decide to pay and then proceed with the court thing, def get it in writing what you are paying this extra money for so you have ground to stand on in small claims court. Also, please let us know who this bridal salon is. Above all BE RELENTLESS. I am sure they have pulled this scam before.

I'd paid cause you need the dresses.. but under protest. I'd make sure I wrote out a statement and delivered it to the manager and the manufacturer. I'd probably be there in person with my receipt and say 'You said the GOLD was a rush not the red, if you remember things so well you'd KNOW i wanted the gold to begin with.' I'd fight it tooth and nail in person and I'd make a scene in their place of business.

But you do need the dresses.. they have you there.
