I would go online and look up the school/district. ee what programs they use and look up some info on them. also look up any key words or phrases they may use that can help you see what they are looking to hear when you meet with them

Reading is always a big thing, also as a substitute be prepared for the classroom management questions.

Remember to talk your self up (no to the extent of coincededness) and onfident

i would practice your objectives
why do you want this job etc
where do you see your self in 5 -10 yrs
what grade will you be doing ... do you have experience? practice what type and how you would say it in a professional relax matter check out the area def dress to impress...

eye contact all the time, smile, if your interview is with a female do not wear anything 'sexy' or i guess even if it was with a male ........ to sum it up, have an idea of what you will say, stay calm and collective feed of the person interviwing you and sell your self ...

best of luck !!!!!!! im sure you will be fine

I was asked
How would I handle a class if I'm not left lesson plans?
Why are substitute teachers important? (no joke)
What is my philosophy on classroom discipline?
What grades do I prefer and why?

HTH!!

Hmm when I applied to sub it was really just a short conversation with the people in the personnel office.

Just to give you a heads up, subbing is NOT as easy as it looks. At least for me it wasn't . Just be prepared, the behavior can be really lousy. I don't mean to be all negative but just try and go into it with a sense of humor and if you look young, try to look a little older. I look 16 and when I subbed the kids totally took advantage of me. I'm inexperienced so of course I let them. I'm hoping having a really teaching position will be different

Tell them you like to set clear expectations as soon as you walk in the door so they know what to expect. And tell them you come prepared with activities that are meaningful for the grade level you're teaching in case of no lesson plans.
