My rate per person is 107.50 + 18% service + LI sales tax. Can someone figure this out for 150 people?

not that I'm great at math and have the answer but I'm wondering is the 18% of $107.50 and the NY state tax just on the $107.50? They aren't supposed to tax the service charge, right?

As far as I know they aren't SUPPOSED to, but I think the halls cound on us not knowint that.
Okay... 107.50+18%=126.85+8.625% (current LI tax)=137.79x150=20,668.50

I came up with $20611.54
I did Price pp + 18% = 126.85 pp x 150 people = 19027.50 x 8.325 % LI Sales Tax = $20611.54.

107.50 x 150 = 16,125 $16,125 x 18% = 2,902.50 2,902.50 + 16,125 = 19,027.50 $19,027.50 x .0825 = 1,569.77 $19,027.50 + 1,569.77 = $20,597.27
TOTAL: $20,597.27

Ah I did it the other way and came up with 20661.06 (not charging sales tax on the service charge)

A very nice banquet manager explained to me that they'll first take the price, and figure out the tax on the price.
tax on $107.50 at a rate of 8.625% (i looked it up for suffolk county) is $9.27.
