HELP...UPDATED!

HELP...UPDATED!

I have one last invite to address...of course it was from FH's list. Anyway...he doesn't know the last name of his friend's husband. He refuses to call her...I don't know them. So...how should I address the invite???

They are married...but she does not use his last name. I even tried doing a reverse look-up with the address...but the phone is in her name!!!!

Mrs. Jane Smith and Joe?
Ms. Jane Smith and Guest?

Or should I just put her name on the invite and include a note on the inside? We don't have inner envelopes. UGH!

Re: HELP...

I think u should put mrs, jane smith and Joe, and then include the note, a note isnt so bad if u think she'll understand....how bout of if FH asks his parents.?

Re: HELP...

I honestly think that you should find out the last name... I don't think it seems right to address it to her as Mrs. **** and guest or Mrs. **** and Joe, it doesn't sound right... JMHO tho!

Re: HELP...

i think you need to find his last name. especially since they are married. i think it would be disrespectful to put just 'and joe'.

Re: HELP...

I think your FH should call and find out. I received a wedding invitation this week addressed to me and 'guest'. I have been engaged since October, and my friend has met my FH many times. I think she was too lazy to call and find out his last name. I would not want to offend any of my guests by doing something like that. JMO...

I agree. I think you should find out the last name. It just doesn't sound right any other way. Sorry.

Re: HELP...

I agree you need to find out the last name - if it is not possible - you could always address outside as Mrs Jane smith

Inside you can just write Jane and Joe - but honestly ONLY as a last resort

Re: HELP...

Sit your FH down and MAKE him call. It will show that he cares about his friend.

Re: HELP...

I take it no else knows them, no mutual friends?

My friends didnt' know my Fh's last name for a long while so I got alot of Ms. my name & him.

Do it as a last resort.

Can you call? Maybe it won't seem as dumb, since you don't know them, you're not expected to know?

Re: HELP...

Thanks ladies...I'm so annoyed with FH right now. I've asked him to call...he says he won't. I would feel stupid calling, since I've never met these people. Maybe I just won't invite them at all...if FH doesn't want to get the last name...Ugh...I don't know what to do

Re: HELP...

Just tell your FH that you refuse to address the envelope if he doesn't find out the husband's last name. See how important it is to him...

Re: HELP...

This is where I draw the line...
If this was me.... (note: my opinion)

If he wants them there and I do not know them - HE MUST FIND OUT THE NAME. If not... I would NOT invite them. NO INVITE! Tough boogies to him! She obviously is NOT a good friend if he does not feel comfortable enough to call. So why would I have these people at my wedding????

Very simple & I save the money on the invite
