HELP...WEDDING DAY HAIR

HELP...WEDDING DAY HAIR

I don't know what to do - I was originally looking for someone to come to my house the morning of my wedding to my hair. Then people started telling me that there is too much confusion and it would be better to go to a salon.

I called yesterday to set up an appointment for a trial with this hairstylist that I wanted to try out. She would have come to my house as well - but she already has appointments the morning of my wedding...the earliest time she has is 10:00am - my photographer is coming to my house at 1:00 - the ceremony starts at 2:30...

Am I pushing it to be ready on time??? I didn't want to get my make-up done before my hair - because that means getting it done at 9:00am - what is it going to look like by 2:30...

WHAT DO I DO???I need guidance girls...do I look for a hairstylist to come to my home...can anyone recommend someone...OMG I feel a meltdown coming on...

The hair and makeup people came to my house, it was great, no confusion at all. It was a really nice time, actually!

I used Jillian and Sarah from gorgeous faces. Give them a call, see if they are available!

I agree....both hair and make up came to me...it was simple and easy...no running from here to there...I just sat in one spot and got pampered comfortably at my IL's house. It never got crowded or confusing.

I think 10am would be ok for a hair appt. How far is it from where you're getting ready? Figure it takes an hour to get your hair done. That leaves you 2 hours to get back home, have M/U done, and get dressed before the photographer comes. I think you can do it if it's not too far to travel.

But personally, I'd find that more confusing and hectic. We had a hair person and a M/U person come to the house and it was so much more relaxed than having to run around. We even had time to take a lunch break before getting dressed, it was nice.

I am actually going really early for my hair because I could not get any other appointment. but luckily my hair holds all day and night when I have it done, so I am not worried.

Does your hair keep it's styling?

Yes it usually does - the problem is that the hairstylist doesn't have earlier - otherwise I would go earlier - I need to find someone else that would do it earlier I think its better -

The salon is about 15min from my house - but I'm worried if she falls behind with the clients she has booked before me - which I BELIEVE is another wedding party... - I'd be screwed if she was running late...

Are you planning on being fully dressed when the photog comes? You need to find out how long it will take to get your hair done - if it is an hour than you would done with hair by 11 - make-up done by 12 and dressed by one. I think you would be fine.

I think it depends on the style. have her do a trial and see how long it takes. if she is done in say 45-60 mins, m/u takes at least as long...that's 2 hours, bringing you to 12, with 2 hours alloting for travel and dressing before your photog arrives.

I think timing is what is important here...different styles take different lengths of time (my hair was done in just about a half an hour, m/u took about an hour)

This is the reason I didn't book with my inital hair person. I didn't want to take the chance of someone showing up late.

You've got a little less than 3 months to go. I say book your hair person at the salon just so that you have someone. But I would really save yourself the stress of worrying if she's going to be running late. Try to find someone who will come to the house. Then you can simply cancel your first appointment, but meanwhile you've got a safety net.

I think that 10 am is fine. I am going to the salon for my hair and makeup. I am taking a bunch of people in the bridal party and my mom and my grandma with me.
