Well I'm 13 weeks now and its getting to be that time where I have to tell my boss soon. I'm kind of nervous because I have been here less than a year but I know that they like me very much. So when should I tell him?
1) In 2 weeks when I come back from vacation?
2) Before I go on vacation (which means this week)?
3) In March after a mini-review (but I might be showing by then).
ETA: 4) Should I talk to HR first and then talk to my boss?
Any suggestions? Irene

I would do either #1 or #3, but not #2.

I would tell him after your vacation, but definitely before March. HR doesn't need to know immediately (I'm notifying my benefits dept when I'm 7 mos along) but I told my boss first, then everyone else.

I would wait until you get back from your vacation as well. You don't need to let HR know before your boss. I had to tell my boss and partner 4 weeks into the pregnancy because I was so sick and that I had to find a replacement. I wouldn't worry, you'll be fine. Good luck and enjoy your vacation.

Wait as long as you can. You might think you're showing but no one else will notice.
I didn't tell my boss till I was 5 1/2 months, and although I thought I was showing, no one noticed. I'd wait till after your review.
I was due for a review Jan 1st, but I'm still waiting for it... and my boss LOVES me.

I told my bosses as soon as I knew for sure. I didn't talk to human resoucres until I was about 4 months along. I would tell them after you come back from vacation.

I think that it depends on what your situation is and how your company responds to pregnancy. I would, if this were me, probably just wait until after I got back from vacation and then see how it goes for your review. Can you request one to be done earlier?
In my situation, I had to tell my boss as soon as I tested positive. I worked with a lot of embryotoxins and was aware that I needed to limit my exposure for the well-being of my baby. Basically, she knew when I was 4 wks preggo.
