Here are some of my votive place cards. Thanks to those that gave me the idea.

I want to do these but never seen them done. Are they lit at the table or lit on the table which has place cards. My cousin said they shouldn't be lit at all and just let people take them home but I like lots of candles!!!!

Someone from the reception hall lights them during cocktail hour and then people pick them up on thier way up to the actual reception. Then there are lit candles on all the tables.

Question: what if your place card is in the back? You don't think it will be too hot to reach over the lit ones to get to get to yours?

might be a little warm but the votives shouldnt generate enough heat to burn someone. Plus, I'm sure my guests would wait until they could see and reach theirs before diggin in
