Flower Problems - Help! (Long)

I have to voice a complaint about two of the florists listed here.

First, 1-800-Flowers has just been an absolute disappointment nearly everytime we've ordered from them. The first time, the flowers were great, but the several times after that, the flowers have been awful. My fiance would send me roses for various reasons, birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine's Day, etc. and the roses never made it more than a few days. Of course, some would hold out longer than others. Once, I took them up on their satisfaction guarantee, which states something like '7 day freshness.' Well, at the end of the seven days, I called and told them the flowers didn't make it seven days, that some started dying the very next day. They told me I was supposed to call before the end of the seventh day!! We finally stopped ordering from them since they couldn't send roses that would carry out the week. I'm sorry, but spending $80 and not getting the week is a HUGE deal to me.

1-800 Flowers is going to contract your order out to a local florist in the vicinity of the recipient, so it's hit or miss as to how good that florist is. I've seen numerous comparitive bits on the news over the years, where they go to a service like this and order the same thing delivered to several cities, then compare the results, and they always vary - some great and some dissapointing.

As for Pro-Flowers, we sent my mother a bouquet from there, and while it was a bit different from the photo, it was a nice bouquet and she was very pleased with the condition they arrived in and how long they lasted. The price for the bouquet, with shipping overnight, was quite reasonable too. All the flowers had a protective collar around the bloom to help support it. It's just one experience, but I'd use them again.
