Does anybody still handwrite invitation envelopes themselves?
I see a lot of people throw them thru the printer or have a calligrapher do them. Don't get me wrong, neither of these is 'bad' or 'wrong' in my eyes, just wondered if anyone out there is handwritting their own!
Just curious!

Re: Here is a question...
I did!
I didn't want to spend the $$ on calligraphy but felt that the invitations needed the personal touch.
So, I've been handwriting the names and addresses for each of my invitations. I think that they look good.

Re: Here is a question...
I hand wrote mine. I didn't want to pay for calligraphy and didn't think it would be that big of a deal, so I wrote them. I did get a nice pen - Paper Mate Lquid Expresso - and it worked beautifully.

Re: Here is a question...
I would have if my fi wasn't a Groomzilla and veto my and my MOH's handwriting...he wanted 'perfection to set the tone' so he paid for it darn it! I think if you have a really nice handwriting you should do them...the 'rule' is that they should be hand addressed, whether yourself, a friend or a professional...but who cares now since printers are great? Obviously my Groomzilla does, but other than him I don't think many people do.

I did. I ordered a few more envelopes then I needed so that I could practice. I think they came out really good. People thought that I paid someone to do them.

Re: Here is a question...
The reason I ask is b/c about 80% of the time, I have nice handwriting and I would like to hand address my invites myself. And, I have seen some calligraphied (Is that even a word!?!?) envelopes that the address seems to over-power the envelope. I have time to worry…

You do have time to worry...so think about it now.
I agree about the address overpowering the envelope...I was expecting the letters on mine to be smaller, but I guess they do larger to show off their talent...looks beautiful though!

Re: Here is a question...
My calligrapher fell through, so I handwrote them all myself. Most of them came out great!

Re: Here is a question...
I'm doing mine myself as well. I used to do calligraphy for fun, so while they won't be anywhere near professional, they should still look nice.
