I am overhearing one of my BM's, who works with me talking about her niece's bridal shower. She is telling someone on the phone that the bridal shower should be a month before the wedding, not two months.
So really when should the bridal shower happen prior to the wedding?

Re: Here is a question....
Sounds like it is about 1 or 2 months before the wedding according to this article I have two friends getting married this year, one's shower is 3 months before the wedding (i think that is too soon) and the other is 1 month before.

Re: Here is a question....
i think generally it is about 2 mths before but it really can be whenever...some people do it 4 mths or 1 mth before. Whatever works best for you and your bridal party.

Re: Here is a question....
it depends the bride's schedule. but i think 2 months is good. my friend (girl from philly whose shower i was invited to unexpectedly) is having the shower 3.5 months before! but they also bought a house, so they could probably use the stuff now....

Re: Here is a question....
I think 2 months is usually standard, but I just went to a shower this weekend for a wedding on July 31. So that's like 4 months in advance. BUT on the other hand, the bride was REALLY surprised simply b/c it was so soon.
I think it really depends on the bride's and the BP's schedule. I wouldn't want one month b/c I think that's just too close to the wedding. By the time I'd get around to my thank you cards the wedding would only be like 2 weeks away!

Re: Here is a question....
We did my sister's 3 months in advance so we could use her B-day as an excuse to get her to the restaurant.
I think for most 1 month is fine, but some brides do their B-parties a month in advance because they know they will be so busy with wedding stuff the last 30 days. So they have the bridal shower 2 months in advance to spread everything out.
i think my cousin had hers like 4 months in advance because her bridal party knew she had graduate school and finals and wanted to get it out of the way.
