here is a warning for you...

I did not know HOW SNEAKY MACYS can be......
yesterday I went to the macys on glen cove rd to look for a rug for the dining room
supposedly they are having a 70% off sale
well, I found one that was pretty reasonable
THEY SAID MSRP was 2100 and sale was 999.00
but I wasnt sure so I decided to look somewhere else.......

when we got to the car, we opened the fortunoff catalog and the same SAME Exact rug was 799.00 w/ a free runner of a 179.00 value

what nerve!! and the MSRP was less in the fortunoff book
hmmmmmmmm
I wonder!

The SAME EXACT thing happened to me at Macy's when I was looking for knives for my SILs shower. Macy's said they were having a 70% off sale on the ones they wanted so we went all the way there and the price (w/ 70% off) was EXACTLY the same as BBB (which is around the corner). I wouldn't give them my $$$ and went right to BBB to purchase them

I rarely go to Macy's anymore. Back in High School we found out that Macy's not only was more expensive than Bloomingdales but they had losey return policies.
In high school I would find an outfit I liked and if they didn't have it at L & T or Bloomies in my size I would go to Macy's where it was ALWAYS 5-20$ MORE for the same item.
We have also bought items there that were defective and whereas any other store would replace the item you bought only a few days ago that was defective Macy's would tell you not our problem either you are stuck with it or take it up with the manufactures.
Tammy that is not an unusual experience that you had. I know a number of people who have had that same experience at Macy's.
